Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin intends to compete with the U.S. establishing their own version of the U.S. DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) to develop advanced futuristic weapons concepts.
“The development of weaponry based on new physics principles; direct-energy weapons, geophysical weapons, wave-energy weapons, genetic weapons, psychotronic weapons, etc., is part of the state arms procurement program for 2011-2020,” Serdyukov said at a meeting with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

A new ‘cold war’ arms race? We all have enough nukes to destroy the planet, so why not drones, bots, remote controlled bugs, cyber weapons, space weapons, ray guns, lasers, SkyNet, hypersonic aircraft, human exoskeleton’s, weather manipulation, and other ‘out-there’ systems? They were soliciting research during 2009 on controlled lightning (Search: DARPA-BAA-10-18), imagine what they’re playing with today, 3 years later…
…And Americans everywhere should brace themselves for stormy skies, because Darpa wants the storm-brewing techniques to be tested nationwide:
“The United States is home to thunderstorms of various type, duration, scale and intensity. This program would like to capitalize on the unique geographic features of various locations across the CONUS [Continental United States] that offer an increased likelihood of intercepting thunderstorms that exhibit unique characteristics.”

The reason I even mention this, is a suspicion that I’ve been getting based on some renewed main-stream-media villainization of Russia/Putin that I have been observing, knowing that the powers-that-be would like nothing more than a new villain for Americans to focus on. It doesn’t seem to be working so well lately with ‘the war on terror’ or whatever they’re calling it these days, seeing how it’s more than a decade old now.
I have a feeling that we will be hearing more about Russia in the future. (just an observation)
What does that mean to preppers? Well, we already know that we live in a very dangerous world, but renewing the U.S./Russia cold-war will make it even more dangerous for us all. It’s simply, and unfortunately, more reason to prep and be prepared for what may come in our future.
