You Are Elected To Represent Us, Not Dictate To Us
Total Recall: Two state senators, John Morse (D) and Angela Giron (D), are out of a job. Residents in Colorado “did the impossible” after they were fed up with being shut out of the legislative process. They recalled two of their senators…
The power of grassroots made history in Colorado. Here’s why you shouldn’t give up on your Constitutional rights…
Recall proceedings began earlier this year, after Sens. Morse and Giron voted for anti-gun legislation that restricted the ability of law-abiding residents to exercise their Second Amendment rights, including their inherent right to self-defense.
On June 3, 2013, organizers of the recall turned in enough signatures to recall Morse and Giron from political office. The recall election took place on September 10 which resulted in the ousting of both senators.
“Everybody told us ‘no’, it could never be done…we didn’t listen, we just went out and did it” said Jim Brown (Pueblo Freedom and Rights), “When you have no option left, that’s what recalls are for.”
A recall sends a chilling effect to those (politicians) who are thinking about selling their souls… that they will be held accountable.
What was the fuse that lit the powder keg?
…Morse telling his party caucus that he was proud of his fellow politicians for ignoring their constituents.
Millions of dollars were spent in an attempt to defeat the recall, and recall organizers were outspent 11 to 1. Money poured in to the local Colorado effort from anti-gun elitists all across the country including New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
The lesson here, and the reason I posted this on our site is this…
For those who say “My voice doesn’t’ make a difference”,
EVERY SINGLE PERSON COUNTS. Every single person makes a difference.
Get up. Get off the couch. Get something done. Because YOU CAN DO IT.
Let you anger turn into activism.
This is a line drawn in the sand. This is where we start to take things back.
While this issue was a gun issue, it makes no difference. ANY issue.
You are elected to represent us, not dictate to us. You are warned.
