North Korea Super EMP Weapon

North Korea Super-EMP Weapon

North Korea Super EMP Weapon

North Korea may possess, or may be in the advanced stages of developing a Super EMP weapon. As the U.S., pundits and media continue to downplay every threat made by Kim Jong Un and North Korea, there is little doubt by some experts that they are working feverishly towards furthering their nuclear capability and a position of dominance whereby they can proclaim the ability to strike a lethal blow to the United States.

To ascertain an opinion of what may really be happening there, look into what they have been doing and what they are doing, rather than what others say they are not doing. After all, if a threat such as this is real, we will likely not hear about it from our political establishment. No need to panic the sheeple… at least until the lights go out…

What is electromagnetic pulse?

EMPactAmerica.org defines it as the following.

Electromagnetic pulse (EMP) is a high-intensity burst of electromagnetic energy. An EMP can be caused by a natural event like a severe solar storm or a malicious act using a weapon like a high-altitude nuclear burst. National experts have concluded that consequences of a natural or man-made EMP event could be long-lasting, continent-wide and cripple the U.S. critical electricity-dependent infrastructures, which are highly vulnerable and largely unprotected. An EMP can paralyze, perhaps beyond recovery, the national critical infrastructures (power, communications, transportation, banking and finance, food and water) that sustain modern civilization and the lives of the American people.

Some agree that a sufficiently high altitude EMP burst could bring down the electrical high-tech infrastructure and power grid of the continental 48, resulting in the eventual deaths of up to 80% of the U.S. population. With a seemingly outrageous assertion like that, one might be foolish to outright ignore it without at least a reality check or risk assessment.

There are a number of high level reports that have been generated which discuss the issue of EMP and its potential impacts on America, including the following.

EMP Commission Executive Report (2004)
EMP Commission Final Report (2008)
EMP High Impact Event Risk to the North American Bulk Power System (2009)
EMP Study Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (2010)
EMP Military Planning for a Catastrophic Critical Infrastructure Event (2011)

Power grid failure scenarios and the high altitude EMP (HEMP) threat is not science fiction. It is real. While many may agree that such an act of War would bring on mutually assured destruction to the aggressor, many would also agree that some of the aggressors, terrorists and rogue states in this world are not of sound mind, at least according to our own perceptions and definitions. Many are willing to sacrifice themselves and die for their beliefs and motivations.

Dr. Peter Vincent Pry, who holds two Ph.D.s (in International Relations and U.S. History) and a certificate in nuclear weapons design from the USAF Weapons Laboratory, recently wrote of his concerns in an article published on FamilySecurityMatters.org, Understanding North Korea and Iran, in which he spells out what North Korea has been ‘doing’, and the potential threats thereof.

Dr. Pry is President of EMPACT America, and has served:

on the Commission on the Strategic Posture of the United States;

as Director of the United States Nuclear Strategy Forum;

North Korea’s Nuclear Program

Summary of Dr. Pry’s statements…

Nuclear test, October 2006
Nuclear test, May 2009
Successful long-range missile test, December 2012
Successful nuclear test, February 2013

The justification for North Korea (and Iran) being a non-threat is from the false notion that North Korea has not successfully miniaturized nuclear warheads for missile delivery, that they are intending to develop higher yield warheads for conventional destruction, and that they are pursuing a nuclear missile warhead.

According to Dr. Pry, “Miniaturization to develop a nuclear warhead is not difficult to do, and can be accomplished even without nuclear testing.”; “North Korea and Iran both have strategic reasons to mislead and conceal from the West the true status of their nuclear and missile programs. They intend that the U.S. and its allies will underestimate those programs, fail to act in time to stop them, and be strategically surprised when North Korea and Iran become nuclear super-powers,”

Nuclear testing is not necessary to develop nuclear weapons, especially today. Even “Little Boy” the first atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, without testing. If this could be done in 1945, certainly it could be done today.

Today, there is no need to reinvent the wheel. There is a vast amount of declassified information about U.S. nuclear weapons development. North Korea and other nuclear weapon states are using modern 21st Century technology to develop their nuclear weapons program, and get help from each other and from China and Russia.

North Korea has already mastered miniaturization and is already armed with nuclear missiles.

In 2011, the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, Lt. General Ronald Burgess, testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee that North Korea has weaponized its nuclear device into warheads for ballistic missiles. In 2009, European intelligence agencies headquartered in Brussels and supporting NATO concluded that North Korea has armed with nuclear warheads its Nodong missiles capable of striking Japan. The CIA’s top East Asia analyst publicly stated that North Korea had successfully miniaturized nuclear warheads for missile delivery in a 2008 interview.

North Korea’s Super-EMP

Summary of Dr. Pry’s statements…

The mainstream argument is that North Korea’s current “nuclear devices” are not a real threat because of their low explosive yield similar to the Hiroshima bomb compared with those within the U.S. arsenal and others, and that their delivery methods are not accurate enough to place them reliably on target of a major city. Here’s the thing though… North Korea is very happy with this misconception. Here’s why…

According to Dr. Pry, “In fact, almost certainly, North Korea now possesses a highly advanced third generation nuclear warhead that could destroy the United States with a single blow.”

(emphasis added)

In 2004, the Congressional Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Commission was warned by a delegation of Russian generals that Russia had developed a “Super-EMP” nuclear warhead, and that design information for this weapon had leaked to North Korea.

A Super-EMP warhead is a nuclear weapon specially designed to produce an enormous burst of gamma rays that generates an extraordinarily powerful electromagnetic pulse, capable of destroying even the best protected electronics, thereby paralyzing military forces and blacking out power grids and collapsing critical infrastructures everywhere–across an entire nation the size of the United States.

Apparently, one of the signatures of a Super-EMP weapon is that it has a very low explosive yield, just several kilotons because the weapon is converting the energy of the nuclear warhead into gamma rays.

In 2004, the Russian generals told the EMP Commission that North Korea was getting help developing a Super-EMP nuclear weapon from contractors from Russia, China, Pakistan and elsewhere, and could probably test such a weapon “in a few years.” A few years later, in 2006, North Korea tested its mysterious “nuclear device” that produced an explosive yield of only several kilotons, and so was derided by the Western press as a failure–but hailed as a success by North Korea.

In 2012, a military commentator for the People’s Republic of China told a Hong Kong journal that North Korea has Super-EMP nuclear warheads.

One nuclear EMP warhead attack could collapse the national electric grid and other critical infrastructures–communications, transportation, banking and finance, food and water–that sustain modern civilization and the lives of millions.

A Super-EMP attack on the U.S. would cause much more damage than a primitive nuclear weapon, and will likely result in catastrophic consequences that will be irreversible. A Super-EMP attack would inflict maximum damage and virtually ensure a world without America.

Russia has something called the Fractional Orbital Bombardment System (FOBS), that would use an ICBM like a Space Launch Vehicle to put a nuclear warhead into orbit, like a satellite. They have apparently shared this with North Korea. Instead of using the ICBM to lob a warhead on a more accurate arcing ballistic trajectory, the FOBS would loft the warhead into a partial orbit. FOBS could reach any nation or threaten any target anywhere on Earth.

The missile test in December 2012, was actually a FOBS test.

Thus, North Korea already possesses an ICBM and poses a mortal nuclear threat to the United States, and to all nations on Earth–right now.

North Korea, during the successful test of its ICBM on December 12, 2012, orbited a satellite weighing 100 kilograms (about 200 pounds). One design of a Super-EMP warhead would be a modified neutron bomb, an Enhanced Radiation Warhead (ERW) because it produces not only many neutrons but also many gamma rays. Gamma rays cause the EMP effect. The EMP field is so large that detonating anywhere over the U.S. would have catastrophic consequences.

North Korea orbited its satellite around the Earth at an altitude of about 500 kilometers. The trajectory of North Korea’s satellite is no accident–they deliberately aimed for and achieved this orbit and altitude, as announced before their launch.

An ideal altitude for making an EMP attack that places the field over the entire lower 48 United States is… wait for it… 500km.

The primary purpose of FOBS is a surprise attack. The first warning of the attack would be ‘lights out’. North Korea and Iran have made clear in their threats that they wish to take down the United States. They perceive themselves to be at war with the U.S. and would like nothing more than to destroy the largest and most successful society on Earth.

Have you heard this information anywhere before? Probably not. These threats are manipulated and downplayed by our own government and their willing accomplices in the press and elsewhere.

The question is… Are you ready?

  1. As terrible as this sounds, I believe there are too many other factors at play that point to their continued open threats as saber rattling. Let’s play this out and say they manage to get one off and the CONUS goes dark. The minute we figure out who the culprit was, they can consider themselves wiped off the face of the earth. This is why we have a nuclear Navy carrying enough firepower to turn just about any country into glass. And there’s no way you’re getting all of them in one shot. Mutually assured destruction leads me to believe that even North Korea is not that stupid.

Don’t get me wrong, the effects of a successful burst would be world changing but even the upper echelon of North Korea’s military know what would happen. Lil Kim only retains power because he has military backing.

    1. I mostly agree with your statement. However there is something inside of me that says… maybe, maybe not, regarding their logic and sanity (NK & Iran).

I believe that Dr. Pry’s statements are worth considering, as well as the risks that they present, rather than taking the main-stream constant ‘downplay’ reporting as a reason to ignore the potential threat, or that these ‘nations’ would follow our logic.

    2. The elite of DPRK are agents for others. They will be beyond the borders by the time they launch anything. They do not care about consequences because they do not believe that the consequences will effect them.

    3. M.A.D. (Mutually Assured Destruction) maybe a deterrent to Asian countries such as China or North Korea, however the fanatics in the middle east do not concern themselves with this. The utter destruction of their enemies plus their own annihilation would send them to the 100 virgins as martyrs.

      1. They dont hate your freedom, they hate your tyranny, your rape of their country and people, by your military. If the russians came to your country to rape your mother, pillage your house, kill your children, would you not be of want of their annihilation?

    4. We have enough nuclear warheads in our submarines to destroy the planet, lol. Damn these are going to be some interesting times ahead of us.

    5. The facts regarding EMP generation as a singular event and greatest threat are glaringly scientifically based on having a significant energy source to produce it. EMP bombs do not exist. These waves are a result or side effect of a nuclear event. Not even a thermonuclear event just nuclear. No nuclear no EMP. It is that simple.
The fusion boost from the thermo is also solely dependent on the nuclear event. Fusion requires 40 times the energy as fission.
So the survival question is forgetting that there are FIVE impacts from any nuclear event. They all happen simultaneously and the primary destructive forces are the other FOUR not being mentioned. All of which have the capacity to destroy utterly.
Not to mention the reporting of facts and science in regards to EMP generally.
The facts that so few scientists have staked their reputation on this theory goes to the reason the commission was recently dissolved Dr. Pry overstated to our military our government and public using politics to build his own career.
In research among scientists that is a cardinal sin to use others work to promote yourself. You can not trust their data.
So research and links goes to reports considered important. True. But scientists generally do not agree that the EMP side effect will result in what Pry promotes. I have seen calculations reviewing his claims and his sources and error was found as much as 600 percent off. Which means their conclusions were quite different. The most interesting was the review done by an electrical power engineer who job it is to design build and harden the grid.
The bigger question surviving nuclear destinations. EMP is totally repairable stuff. Replaceable. People are not.
I have nuclear background in nuclear protection and nuclear detection technologies. I understand a nuclear event and even so old I worked as a cold war worker making special nuclear material.
I don’t like hype alarming people on something that is a non issue.
It won’t be an EMP that kills.

      1. There are easy basic protections for electronics. Unplug. Disconnect power. Even car batteries. But hitting the breaker switch and tossing cells and iPods tablets in the microwave oven unplugged goes a long way. The power grid believe it or not is the least sensitive to EMP. It is already hardened for lightening and solar flare storms. EMP is similar but can damage. This is not unknown and has been in design changes over last 4 decades.. EMP waves are less than a second long with effects in duration only theorized given all the variables.

  2. North Korea and Iran are perceived to be threats only because they refuse to “play ball” with the emerging world government. The power elite in charge just cannot tolerate any nation that struggles to retain its national sovereignty. Remember how quickly we forgot about South Africa when it finally knuckled under to the global establishment? Undoubtedly, someone somewhere wants to force North Korea and Iran to submit. And they are going to be portrayed as pariah states and a huge danger to humanity until they do.

    1. I also agree with your logic, and I do not overlook the ‘play ball’ aspect of all this, and getting along ‘in the club’ or else…

On the other hand, and politics aside, I believe there is merit to consider the apparent capabilities of NK (and perhaps soon Iran).

This particular article actually focuses on the possibility that we are failing to recognize the true intentions of their (NK) nuclear development plan. As the media continues to reflect that their yields are too small and their ICBM’s not accurate enough, they perhaps are smiling to themselves as they finish up their EMP, which itself is a small yield weapon (in comparison to today’s conventional nukes) and not required to be accurately delivered to a city target…

The media continues to assume that they are attempting to develop conventional nuclear weapons, whereas people like Vincent Pry are indicating that they are not. Instead, they are developing Super EMP weapons.

  3. Since China has great influence over NK it is quite possible that they are encouraging the insane “saber ratling” by NK as the ultimate pawn in the ultimate chess match. China doesnt lose anything if NK is wiped off the face of the earth but they have a great deal to gain and once it has happened they no longer have NK to deal with as a distraction.

  4. Ken, this is probably one of your most important posts. This threat is not to be taken lightly.

    1. I believe that the threat or mention of EMP goes over the head of most people due to the science-fiction sound of it. Most people cannot comprehend how a device like this could entirely destroy us, and indirectly kill the majority of our population due to our modern way of life and its dependencies. Like you said, this threat, and any other such similar threat is not to be taken lightly…

  5. If NK launches a nation destroying EMP there is no way China, Iran or Russia are getting out unscathed. We would have nothing to loose at that point.

  6. Funny how I just watched the new Red Dawn and you posted this, I think it’s highly possible for them to hit us with an EMP but we would still wipe them from the face of the earth, they would not likely invade us like in the movie since there are those 300 million guns floating around the US, and we would be pissed off with no electric!

  7. I tried to open the last attachment regarding critical infrastructure. I keep getting a message that the file is damaged. Suggestions?

    1. Try this… right-click on the link, and ‘Save as…’, then open it from where you saved it. That usually does the trick for finicky PDF/browser issues. Let me know…

  8. Hmmmmm… There are only two reasons why I think this NK EMP scenario would be possible…

    1. NK is getting slammed with so many sanctions that their people are starving and there have even been reports of parents eating their own children due to hunger. They really are trapped in a corner and have a legitimate reason to want to hurt the US no matter what the consequences.
    2. China would benefit greatly if the US mainland could be overtaken – lots of land and resources, and a mostly dead population (if they waited long enough after the EMP). Plus, the few survivors after an EMP would probably not be able to withstand something like the Chinese army here.

  9. Seems to me they could easily set this up. They make the EMP weapon, house it in a satellite launch into orbit like they did and just make it reenter over the designated area and blow. Stealth attack.

    1. The very day that they put that satellite into orbit, I immediately thought of it as a potential EMP weapon. Once you can put something in orbit, its only a matter of making that ‘something’ and EMP weapon, and the decision to set it off…

  10. I have known of Dr. Pry for nearly three decades, and he is the real thing. I am also amused by the bravado of many posters, all of whom assume that the U.S. nuclear arsenal is still a viable, powerful threat. It is not. Perhaps unknown to most Americans is the fact that ALL nuclear warheads on American delivery systems are many years beyond their design lives. Furthermore, President Bush I dismantled our nuclear weapons production infrastructure and dismissed the engineers and technicians that ran the production facilities. Rocky Flats, our plutonium trigger plant in Colorado, no longer exists. Elk now graze where buildings once stood. The average age of the work force that ran these facilities is now 76 years….and they are dying off. Yes, the tribal knowledge of how to manufacture nuclear weapons in the U.S. is rapidly vanishing. This frightening fact is not lost on our near-peer strategic rivals. Meanwhile, Russia, China, Pakistan, North Korea, India, Israel, and soon-to-be Iran, are currently able (and presumably doing so) to make fresh weapons. The average design life of a typical U.S. nuclear weapon is 14 years. We made our last batch of 200 in 1989. They the plant was closed. We’re done. Testifying in 2002, Doug Feith (Undersecretary of Defense) told the Senate Armed Services Committee that if we started that day on a crash program to rebuild our nuclear weapons plants, it would take $120 billion and ten years before we could produce a single new production warhead. We have, so far, not allocated a single penny toward this end. Remember those aging engineers and techs? Who will train the next generation of workers? I doubt that China or Russia will. Five years ago, the Dept of Energy refused to certify the U.S. nuclear arsenal as safe or reliable. We are a paper tiger, and Mutual Assured Destruction has been dead for years. If the EMP strike is launched from a steam ship off the Gulf coast, we will have no idea WHO launched it, and therefore there can be no attribution-of-attack. No retaliation will occur. And we will be in mid-trajectory for the historical dust bin. In short, we really have no idea whether our warheads will go BOOM, or pfff. So don’t get too cocky about American military power. We aren’t nearly what we were 15 years ago, or forty years ago, when we were at our zenith. If EMP comes to America, you will all be very much entirely, on your own!

    1. Nuclear forensics requires debris; a high altitude EMP will leave nothing to trace.

    2. I have to disagree with your facts on your posts. The disarmament on nukes began with Reagan and physically dismantaling the nukes to burn in commercial power in 1993. The production of source material stopped in 1987. The ability to assemble and refurbished and maintain still continues in the panhandlers of Texas. Pretty much what Rocky Flats did. Not exact but close enough for this discussion when Russia and USA agreed to reduce nukes we each had 35,000. Today around 5000 each. All are not armed. We each have around 280 armed on standby.
As far as age design etc yes we have changed designs over time. All productions facilities have been in cleanup post cold war mode for over 20 yrs. And again I say this. There is no nukeless EMP bomb. That intense of a single wave needs a power source and the physics to make it radiate on the earths curve. That requires nuclear physics. That detonation will destroy anything too close. But survivors will be more prepared for the 600 mph winds light 40 times brighter than the sun. Heat hotter than the earth core. And air pressure for 20 miles too great for any kind of structure above ground withstand the pressurized atmosphere much less wind. The EMP is at most 10 nanoseconds long and max intense for 2 nanoseconds. The upper atmosphere will suffer static interference 30 min. The damage of what is not destroyed In grid power system communications etc can be significant. But radio systems will still work. Landlines are shielded. There are still the old TV signals being used today. Don’t believe me set up antennae. I have a flat screen in my RV using an analog cable connect to an antennae picking up just fine. CB radio will work. Too much hype. Nuclear weapons require proper shelter to survive. God bless.

  11. i know we are preparing as best we all can right now for any one of many scenarios (this being one very VIABLE possiblity in one way shape or form). in addition, i am feverishly trying to find a job closer to home (i live in a semi-rural area) and out of the job i have now in the big city. Lord knows i dont wanna be anywhere near this cesspool when SHTF. got my EDC bag stowed away and ready in teh car if,God forbid it happens b4 i get that new gig. also, tryin to focus on pulling out as much cash as i can- fiat currency sux but should be in high demand, esp if/when the atm’s go down courtesy of the NK pigboy leader’s ‘toy’.other than that, all i can do is pray THE DAY we fear doesnt happen for the foreseeable future so i can squeeze some more preppin in. good luck to all, God bless

  12. Sorry Ken, I cannot comment on this article. I tried to read this article three times. Each time I was thoroughly scared out of my mind to stop reading before I could finish. To me this is one of the scariest things that can happen to us.

    1. I have to disagree with your facts on your posts. The disarmament on nukes began with Reagan and physically dismantaling the nukes to burn in commercial power in 1993. 13. Read “One Second After”, a great depiction of life after an EMP attack, sorry to say no happy endings, my wife could not finish it, said the book scared the crap out of her. Not a question of if only a question of when. Keep preppin boys and girls the time is short NK could give a shit less they have nothing to lose.

    1. That book is an excellent read and wake-up for anyone… Highly recommended.

        1. I have been shaking my head on these books. Again the so called experts are not representative of the scientific and nuclear community. This author is a good man and means well and also enjoys an upcoming movie deal Single viewpoints by persons who are educated and appear to be with credentials to be the authority are sometimes a mouthpiece for convincing Congress to give money to donors. A scary needlework most of the time. And like any lie you have to continue it. Dr.Pry has some answering to in my book Make a list of other scientists in agreement with his picture of a holocaust from the broken power grid. You can find scientific works yourself. The 2004 and 2008 EMP Commission reports were not a new or the first. Their conclusions were in my mind politically driven for money for Congress members donors. Tell your wife the truth is not being told. I know. Who the help am I? I am a veteran of all things nuclear. I was working at places mentioned by others plus much more experience than a blog discusses. I know enough to speak and be heard. A challenge is fine. Not concerned . The five parts of a nuclear weapon detonation include the EMP but the other four are more deadly but not widespread as projected by hype.

  14. Very good article and very good wake up call. This could happen and most are NOT prepared. Most Americans don’t want to face the real possibility that this could happen. They want to think everything is going to be OK and they will always be protected. Well 9/11 should have been a wake up call but it wasn’t. Always be prepared for the unexpected.

  15. Questions? what happens to nuclear power plants after an EMP? Those fuel rods have to cool down and it can take days for them to do so,if those generators run out of fuel (even if they work since there are alot of electronics in those big automatic ones) and there’s no trucks delivering that fuel then there’s no pumps to pump the cool water in.
also, how about prisons, most cell doors work from the grid, another scary thought since i live between both.

    1. If an EMP hits I wouldn’t be that worried about the prison doors opening. It would happen I know, but to be honest I think the real threat is going to be Joe citizen. Most homes have less than a weeks supply of food and a large majority of people carry little to no cash. There will be ( if it takes out the whole grid)millions of starving people roaming around looking for food. This is were the real threat will come from. I hate to think that I will be shooting my neighbors to protect my stores and family but it may come to that.

  16. I’m not worried about NK sending us an EMP…I’m worried that the US gov has the idea and someone to blame it on. I would bet money by the end of the month it’s lights out.

  17. I’m just trying to be rational here, but I just thought of this perspective. I know that it sounds highly unlikely but I liked the idea. Maybe, the government has been making this big stink about firearms, and such, because they know that we’re going to get pissed off, and they know that we’re going to buy as much ammo and weapons that we can afford. So, just maybe, they’ve been secretly making us arm ourselves do defend ourselves from this threat? I mean, they do know that what they’re doing is wrong, lol.

  18. Now North Kore HAS launched ” a satellite or some other orbiting device” that passed over California 1 hour after the Super Bowl with nothing the US can do about it!

    1. We have lasers that can hit it from the ground, no clue as to possible damage.
We have small missiles we can send it’s way.
We could lob something at it from orbit like the ISS or from a shuttle.
There’s the weaponized satellites the USA has in orbit(with lasers) that can damage/disable it/limited epm the thing or just shoot it out of the sky.

I’m annoyed, Can’t come up with more options right now.
Point is WE, the US could have, can do something about it at any point.

I think it’s something our Gov likes to have up there that they can continually use as a scare tactic and a very possible false flag option.

  19. “Our world would never be the same again.”

Our “world” would cease to exist.

  20. Catching up on posting. Wanted to share this with MSBers. A couple months ago North Korea promised us a Christmas surprise.

Fox News had an article on-line “US on high alert for possible ‘Christmas gift’ missile from North Korea”

A DoD employee was quoted in the article as saying “But those ICBM tests showed no clear sign the North had perfected the technology needed to ensure a warhead could survive atmospheric re-entry.”

I asked Dr. Pry whether atmospheric re-entry is required for EMP placement and detonation.

    Here was his response:

“an EMP attack does not require atmospheric reentry. NK is perfectly capable of making an EMP attack against the US by ICBM or satellite or by launching a SAM off a freighter (as they apparently practiced in 2013). However, those who argue, as below, that NK has not clearly demonstrated RV technology capable of atmospheric reentry are idiots. The argument is untrue, as NK SRBMs, MRBMs, IRBMs, and ICBMs have all been tested with RVs. Moreover, any nation that can build an ICBM and successfully test atomic and thermonuclear weapons (as has North Korea) can build an RV very easily WITHOUT TESTING. The RV is simple, compared to building ICBMs, A-bombs, and H-bombs, and could be built by any competent aerospace engineer without testing, merely by using a slide rule. An ICBM RV is just a more robust version of an SRBM RV, scaled-up to endure faster, hotter reentry.”

Granted this is still deemed by some to be low-probability but the high-impact cannot be disputed.

I was in ID at the time and immediately stocked my DFM’s place with enough fuel and food to get us all back to the farm, JIC, and presuming the cars still worked.

  21. Ken, Do you still have that article? I remember it had a link to tracking those satellites. NK said they were for imagery and communications but so far no Western nation confirmation of them being operational. This latest news (businessinsider.com/north-korea-first-spy-satellite-ready-launch-dismal-space-record-2023-4?amp) is a declared military spy satellite. In comment directly above this one in article, I shared what Dr. Pry had to say on the general subject a couple years ago.
