This Is About CONTROL!
Guest Post: by ‘NightOwl’
I just saw a segment on ABC’s Nightline about school lunch. The jist of the story was since new government mandated food “choices” have been added to the menus “plate waste” has increased by 90-97% in most schools! Kids, especially high school age kids just will NOT be told what they have to eat.
The do-goodies over at the USDA now force schools to limit the amount of calories a child can be served (no second helpings!) by grade level. They also force the schools to cut way back on salt, sugar, ketchup, etc. which makes the food bland and tasteless. And kids must be served vegetables whether they want them or not- so the kids throw 90-97% of it away.
This article is not about nutrition.
Mayor Bloomberg of NYC has recently outlawed soft drink sizes above 16 ounces. He has banned products from Lauer Custom Weaponry because Mayor Doomberg thinks their paint schemes make real guns look like toys. Hizzonner has banned smoking, trans-fat French fries, baby formula and now there is talk of banning large size popcorn and milkshakes!
This is NOT about nutrition.
I lived in Chicago for 10 years; Mayor Daley dedicated his life to denying Second Amendment rights to the citizens of his city. For 30 years people were not able to even OWN a handgun in the city limits, unless you were a criminal or politically connected- (any difference?).
The same right I exercise everyday here in Indiana would have bought me an instant felony in Chicago!
This is NOT about public safety.
I am 49 years old, and in my lifetime I have seen many freedoms taken from Americans: You HAVE to wear a seat belt; You CAN”T burn leaves anymore; You must SUBMIT (I HATE that word!) to a drug test if you want to work; You CANNOT buy 100 watt light bulbs for your home; You can be charged with a CRIME if you utter certain words that offend SOMEONE (that list of words grows everyday); You CANNOT punish your child; You MUST buy health insurance (Thanks, Obama); If you transact more than $600 a form MUST be filled out and SUBMITTED (there’s that word again!) to the Federal government; You CANNOT breed or posses certain livestock that the USDA deems harmful and the ones allowed must now be registered with the government; You MUST have your children inoculated with whatever the government requires; You CANNOT farm, improve or otherwise make use of YOUR LAND if the EPA says you will be harming the spotted-snail-darter or whatever; You and your children MUST SUBMIT (again!) to what is, in effect, a strip search if you need to fly somewhere in an airplane. And we walk around under the constant eye of pervasive surveillance in the name of security. I could go on for the rest of the month about lost freedoms and mandatory requirements to be an American citizen, but you get the idea.
This article IS about control!
The personality type that wants to be a politician, craves power- control is power. The personality type that craves power is usually paranoid- knowing that others like him are waiting to take the power away for themselves. These people imagine trouble where there is none. They justify tighter control for the “greater good”. Individualism is viewed with suspicion and even fear. The Left loves to throw around the term “lone wolf”. Anyone who denies the collectivist mindset is a kook or even a threat!
Telling us what we can and cannot eat and drink is just the start.
Do you doubt that if it were possible some fascist on The Left would make certain thoughts a crime!!! Or better yet actually control our thoughts for the “good of society”!!! The ONLY reason this is not being done is because the technology does not exist- yet.
30 years ago the things written above would NOT have been tolerated by Americans. Now they are common place.
What common place injustices will we tolerate 30 years from now?

Oh the technology does exist to control our thoughts and it exists right now in every pharmacy. You need to read This Perfect Day by Ira Levin.
It’s no different than the constant taking from workers in the work place. I’ve worked over 40 years and never once can I recall when an employer has increased a benefit, wage increase or time off…its always take, take, take, hence the Siamese joining of corporate and government. While most would be panicking in the streets at a full blown collapse, I’d be dancing in them relishing the thought of their demise and thought of a new, people driven world emerging. This is my reward for not succumbing to ANY of big pharma’s poison pills they dispense…a free thinking and unimpaired noodle!
The best way to deal with all this govt control is to educate yourself on holistic nutrition, holistic medicines (herbs), toxins in packaged foods, toxins in allopathic medicine, toxins in our city water, toxins in our mainstream media “programs” (they don’t call it programming for nuthin!)
Of course more veggies is good for your health, less big ag condiments which use way to much high-fructose corn syrup–we learn to read ingredient labels, and avoid anything with artificial “fuel” coloring, artificial flavoring, artificial preservatives, MSG, and we’ve been cutting down on yeast breads.
We have long abandoned commercial cleaners and use simple vinegar with water as a cleaner, with added baking soda for more power. Even a squeezed used -citrus/lemon wedges can clean up a counter.
We brush our teeth with Bobs Red Mill aluminum-free baking soda.
Tis much to learn, but you will live healthier, and more importantly, gain self responsibility for your own body–the govt governs your mental state IF one chooses to be uninformed and hand over their sovereignty to a controlling group who thinks for them instead.
However, the info is out there on the internet while we still have it
To your health & freedom!
We shop at Trader Joes a lot because they are one of the few stores left that dont use bad ingredients in their products (but you still need to read labels because some do contain high-fructose corn syrup, canola oil, soybean oil, yeast extract which is MSG, and I know some of their lunch meats without sodium nitrate/nitrites as well as dairy without the rBGH STILL DO GIVE ME SEVERE HEADACHES so I know the animals were injected/fed with either/or all of antibiotics, steroids, hormones, and who knows what else).
The Trader Joes organic ketchup is pretty good, so is their relish. The only other pickle that does not use artificial coloring or sodium benzoate preservative is Del Monte, but I dont see their brand anymore in the stores.
Some of the hamburger meat at Trader Joes looks artificially colored, though, unless you get the organic one.
Also, the big commercial brand cereals now taste horrible with a strong chemical smell & taste–probably from the pesticides sprayed on the inner package box or liner.
Our beloved Pepperidge Farm goldfish crackers now are horribly salty, and taste more like cardboard.
We have been shopping more now at our local farmers market, and it actually cuts down on our grocery bill while we get fresh raw, and usually organic fruits & veggies. Not to mention they also taste WAAAAY better than the produce from grocery stores.
Rice may soon be GMO in the U.S.
So if govt says eat more fruits & veggies, I’ll do so but only because I’ve educated myself. However, I will not take their govt madated vaccines, fluoridated water (ever see those fluoridated bottles of water especially made for babies???), and I try to avoid going to an allopathic doctor by taking care of my health as best as I can thru good nutrition AND avoiding bad toxins–you cant have one or the other or you lessen the benefits.
And heaven knows, “they” sure are putting out a lot of toxins into everything.
Being informed is of utmost necessity these days.
TV is a mind control “program”
The flicker rate affects your mind with various frequencies.
I’d put links, but my links never make it on this blog (Ken)
@lightnbug, “I’d put links, but my links never make it on this blog”
Perhaps you’ve not read the comments policy which is linked immediately below where one would click “Submit Comment”?
The short answer is that this site is not a link farm to other sites, and we encourage others to submit their own thought-out comments and opinions, rather than parroting the thoughts of others and other sites.

Amen brother. I wonder how long they will push before we push back, or if we will. I am 47 and have seen things change drastically in this country.
I am 50 years old and half the stuff I used to do around the farms and ranches I worked on would now classify me as a domestic terrorist.
My brothers and I would occasionally be brought home by a black-and-white from the Sheriff’s Dept. or the highway patrol as teenagers. I remember a senior deputy commenting about my older brother that: “If he had any brains, he would be dangerous.” We rode dirtbikes and carried rifles while turning on irrigation pumps. We had access to poison shed where we could get pesticides and herbicides by the gallon in industrial strength. The capper was that we still used dynamite to blow stumps back in those days.
We did all this before we left home at age 18 or 17. Other than a few unoccupied, dilapidated outhouses, there was no unintended damage with the dynamite. The only casualties from our rifles were deer, squirrels and a few windshields of people stealing gasoline or agricultural equipment. (yes, we filed a report with the Sheriff’s dept.) We spread enough herbicide and pesticide to be spokespeople for Monsanto Corp.
Nowadays, I figure I would be disarmed, placed on high doses of Ritalin and grounded to parents home until after my senior year in High School.
A final thought is that I never had trouble at school from bullies or gangs. (who wants to mess with a kid who has a high-powered rifle, a dirtbike, access to explosives, knowledge of electronic ignition, time delay fuses, and knowledge of local terrain.) and a razor sharp skinning knife was part of our wardrobe because we frequently had an animal to skin at home after we got out of algebra class with Mr. Smith.
@Ted K; I THOUGHT I was part of identical triplets! Just didn’t realize it was you. Hey bro! Now all we have to do is find the THIRD one!!! LOL Survive well. Enjoy.
Atlas Shrugged! Comes to mind.
The burning leaves is an odd one but we have to get a permit to do that in upstate NY. I just figured it was about being in the mountains. I visited an old friend up in Vermont and we jumped in the back of his truck to go to the store. He said, “Wow”. That’s against the law now. Can you believe that my daughter isn’t going to enjoy the fun of riding in the back of a pickup. Heck, when I was too young to pick up a bail of hay, they made me drive the truck. We really do need to get back to riding bikes without helmets and not knowing where the seatbelts are in the car. The govt seems to be more worried about my life than I am. As Iben Browning once said, “Security is the opposite of freedom. You can’t have both.”
@Craig; Yeah, riding in the back of a pickup, and burning leaf piles in the fall. These are cultural icons of our age. WTF! Against the law??? Head shaking. Survive well. Enjoy.
Truth be known politicians are a bunch of bed wetters and piss their pants every time they see a lemon aide stand. I am glad that I live where these pleasures including lemon aide stands are still possible.
Keep the faith and recycle with fire!
I am reading this with my 100 watt light bulb, just got done burning some leaves, shot my guns regularly, just got done picking beans out the garden and feeding the cows. Kiss my butt Washington
I am worried about all the people that don’t see this as anything wrong. The more I learn the more worried I get about how easily the American people will be herded up and taken away because they just don’t bother to care. I try to talk to my parents about this, but they stubbornly refuse to believe in any “conspiracy theories”. It’s scary and unless we who know, rise up and educate the others we will all be in danger.
I went to Firestone to buy a couple tires for my car the other day. AFTER I paid the guy said he had to register me and my tires with DOT!!!
I asked him twice if meant “The Dept Of Transportation???”
He said yes ALL new tires have to be registered with the gov. “in case there is a recall”….does this smell fishy to anyone else???
@Night Owl;
I just put new tires on my car a month or so back, no DOT paperwork or anything, just a plain receipt. (and yes, I do know what DOT reports look like, I used to own a trucking company) I went to a large tire shop too.
I’m thinking it might be just Firestone, because you know, they had some ‘recall’ issues in the past that turned out very badly.
