A recent comment here on MSB reads, “Hello all, I am brand new to prepping and am not sure where to begin,” and is a perfect setup for the rest of you to chime in with your opinion…

He went on to say, “I am not sure what can be stored and what cannot be stored. I found this site by accident while trying to gain knowledge. My question is simple, where do I begin, where can I go to read reliable info on what I need to do? All and any help appreciated.”

Let’s help out and offer up some advice…

Rather than writing a 1000+ word post, I’ll bet you folks will provide some great insight…

All I will say at the moment (for the person who asked the question) is to absorb the opinion of others while considering it or comparing it to your own unique situation. We are all different, we all have our own circumstances, our own unique set of risks and reasons for becoming prepared, our own thresholds of ‘comfort’ regarding ‘preparedness insurance’, our own priorities, financial means, skill sets, philosophical outlooks, etc..

For the newbie beginner, I suggest thinking about preparedness in high-level CATEGORIES, and then focus down from there. Examples include Food, Water, Security (and much more).

Hopefully you’re in for a life-changing experience as you delve into preparedness. Beware of the side-effects however… you will become more independent, self-reliant, liberated, critical-thinking… and when that pod opens and you see the ‘real world’ around you – you might be in for a shock (The MATRIX is Real).

“This is your last chance. After this there is no turning back. You take the blue pill: the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill: you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.”
