What did you do for your preparedness this week? (2016-02-27)

(I woke up to this scene Friday morning – peaceful…)

This weekly post is open-forum (any topic) enabling you to voice your opinions, concerns, questions, and to also let others know what you have done this week for your preparedness.
The more who comment, the more ideas that are spread around for the benefit of all…

I can feel it – the sun’s rays shining longer and longer each day as it warms the earth – preparing for Spring (although it was ‘0’ degrees here this morning – while having reached 61 a few days ago!). As I look out my office window into the blue sky sunny morning, the sun has risen over the mountain ridge to my east and the solar panels are working ‘full-on’ as they’re jamming free electrons back into the battery bank from last night… All is good… πŸ˜‰

While it’s easy to find ‘bad’ in the world, and while it’s wise to prepare/adjust/adapt to it, it’s also healthy to find time to ignore it and observe the ‘good’ that’s all around us – often in nature. It’s such a nice day, I think I’ll go out for a hike and see what I may see…

(white-tailed deer: nearly every evening several or more stop by to feed)

Let’s see, let me get it started… what have I done this week for preparedness?

-Purchased more canning supplies: Quarts, Pints, lots of lids, extra bands
-Purchased yet more ammunition after reviewing all calibers on-hand
-Upgraded my internet service (MSB-related), new modem, new router
-Re-arranged the office to more easily look out the windows and daydream while working πŸ˜‰
-Purchased a few specific items to improve the off-grid battery bank
-Went for several walks through the woods
-Started to think about doing my taxes πŸ™

Your turn… what’s up?
