What did you do for your preparedness this week? (2016-12-17)

December 17, 2016, by Ken Jorgustin

This weekly post is an open-forum (any topic) to voice your thoughts, opinions, or questions for others. Lets hear about what you’ve been doing this week for preparedness, or perhaps what you have done to convert your ‘fiat’ (paper) currency into tangible assets 😉

The more who comment, the more that’s spread around for the benefit of all…

Note: We appreciate that you stay on-topic with your article comments during the week. However for any ‘off topic’ comments, use this most recent Saturday open-forum article,
‘What did you do for your preparedness this week?’

Note: Read the most recent (150) comments (from all articles) on the ‘Discussion’ page.

I decided to ‘pull the trigger’ this week and converted some fiat paper into a Garmin GPSMAP 64st. I just received it yesterday and will be ‘playing’ with it today 😉

I also picked up a BaoFeng BF-F8HP Two-Way VHF Radio which I’m looking forward to setting up. If it works out well, I’ll pick up a few more for comms around the property. My Midland radios have been fine, but this BaoFeng has lots more features and capabilities.

The past few days have been brutally cold here while the pellet stove is getting a workout. We have had snow on the ground for a number of weeks already and we’re getting more as I’m looking out the window. Definitely a white Christmas for us this year. Can’t believe it’s just a week away.

What have you been up to this week?
