What did you do for your preparedness this week? (2017-1-28)
This weekly post is an open-forum (any topic) to voice your thoughts, opinions, or questions for others. Lets hear about what you’ve been doing this week for preparedness, or perhaps what you have done to convert your ‘fiat’ (paper) currency into tangible assets 😉
The more who comment, the more that’s spread around for the benefit of all…
Note: We appreciate that you stay on-topic with your article comments during the week. However for any ‘off topic’ comments, use this most recent Saturday open-forum article,
‘What did you do for your preparedness this week?’
Note: Read the most recent (150) comments (from all articles) on the ‘Discussion’ page.

-I need to make room in one of the chest freezers today to fit a quarter of beef being dropped off later. This might be a challenge… Worst case, it’s a rush out to buy another chest freezer 😉
-Installed a GMRS ‘base station’ antenna, the Comet CA-712EFC. The extended range is phenomenal, still experimenting with it.
-Did some cleanup and organizing in the ‘tool room / man-cave’ this week. Still more to do.
-Went through certification / testing to operate a trail groomer & drag for snowmobile trail maintenance (this one). Sure is fun 😉
-Trying to keep the snow off the solar panels as we have been getting a steady but light snow the past several days, just enough to make it a problem…
-Practiced more winter hiking in snow while carrying bag kit, rifle, GPS (and 2-way radio for comms ‘back to base’ just in case).
-Looking into PVS-14, researching.
-Bringing inside another 400 pounds of pellets for the stove from the stack outside, getting ready for a cold(er) snap next week.
-Working with a new potential advertiser to bring on board (they sell quality canned meats for long term storage), we’ll see…
Your turn… What have you been up to this week?
