Lot of us have our daily routines when it comes to searching out news and information.
Lots of us mostly disregard the news coming from the mainstream, given their blatantly obvious agenda. So many of us look elsewhere to discover the pulse of what’s going on out there.
That got me to thinking about posting this question:
What are the alternative news websites that you visit?
“Alternative” in this context means non-mainstream.
“Mainstream” in this context refers to the ‘alphabet channels’ and their associated websites, and other such major news corps and the like.
“News” in this context is simply whatever it is that you deem news & information.
For example I visit a number of well known popular alternative news sites and news aggregator’s while I also search out on the fringes, some of which might be labeled ‘conspiracy’. There’s often truth nuggets out there. After awhile you get pretty good at filtering out the junk while recognizing what may be closer to the truth or actuality.
Note: Once you become ‘tuned in’, you will notice how terribly one-sided the mainstream news really is. I can’t even bear to watch most of their barrage of propaganda without my blood pressure rising.
Most will agree that the #1 site regarding headlines and links to news of the day is the Drudge Report. While he may sometimes link to mainstream articles, Matt Drudge has a unique talent for digging up pertinent information regardless of the source. His website, DrudgeReport.com, is so successful that his daily ‘hits’ far outnumber most all mainstream news and information websites out there.
Another “go to” site for me is ZeroHedge. They’ve been around for years. Their articles often cut through the BS and tell it like it is. A good cross section of current event topics, although focusing on financial & economic news.
So here’s how we’ll do it… In the comments below, list (if you want to) some of the websites you visit for news and information.
Note: I’m not talking about other prepper websites, instead I’m referring to what you consider to be ‘alternative news’ sites.
Don’t type www or http:// and don’t paste the link itself. If you do, the comment will automatically be held in our moderation folder until I get around to looking at it.
Instead, just type the name like this example:
drudgereport.com (or just ‘drudgereport)
zerohedge.com (or just ‘zerohedge’)
After a number of responses, I’ll post a list up here for convenience (with the links).
Note: Lets try not to chastise others for the websites they may choose to check out…
Sound good? Good.
(Update) Here are a few alternative news & information sites based on your responses:
