My tendency is to want to vote for the lessor of the two evils and I’m not sure which one that is. I was reading recently that voting for the lessor of two evils is still voting for evil. Abstinence may be socially incorrect but is looking good. Reply Mr. Skeptical 08/05/2016 I’m in the same boat. I can’t in the good conscious vote for either one of the 2 primary candidates. Is this the best this country has to offer? Reply Bluecatmatt 08/05/2016 All I can say is if Hillary wins, America loses. Plain and simple the Supreme court will be stacked to the left with a possible 7-2 or 8-1 margin. The second amendment will be abolished, all of us on here will be hunted as vermin because we believe in the right to protect ourselves and our families and from tyranny of government. Yes, I know Trump is not the perfect candidate or the most proficient at vocalizing, but he does want to keep illegals out and he does love the military and he wants to keep us from being screwed at the trade table. Hillary will open the gates give our economy away and she and her family will reap the benefits of a progressive socialist government and your children will be screwed! Reply Running Bear 08/05/2016 I agree with you 100 %. If Hillary gets in there people like us will be hunted like mad dogs. Keep your power dry and your guns close. God bless us all. Any vote for one of the others is a vote for Clinton. Johnson has just come out in support of Black Lives Matter. If Trump should happen to win, there will be race riots. So, no matter which of the four is chosen, our country is in big trouble. The only advantage to Trump is that a Republican congress might impeach him. A democratic congress will never impeach Clinton. Reply Nihilist 08/05/2016 If you were thinking about voting for Clinton and vote otherwise then this is incorrect. The alternative parties draw from both bases. Reply Simmon 08/05/2016 Yes, a lot of Bernie supporters are voting for a 3rd party. But for any Republican to vote for Hitlery is a traitor. Reply EM 08/05/2016 Not at all the reality is that Trump is not a true Republican – he does not have the core values. He is the other side of the Hillary coin except I really believe that he has no impulse control (as consistently relayed by those that know him). For as much as I dislike Hillary, I think she is the lessor evil. For now I will go Johnson. Reply Simmon 08/06/2016 Em, that is ridiculous. Look at this poll, its overwhelmingly in favor of Trump. Hillary is definitely more evil than any other candidate that has ever run for office. Murders, lies, scandals you name it, if it’s wrong hilly or billy did it!!! Lol EM 08/06/2016 Simmon – the poll and readers here favor Trump but that doesn’t make my opinion ridiculous. Simmon 08/06/2016 EM,Trump is not the perfect candidate, BUT,he is the lesser of 2 evils. You don’t see people dying around him or multiple FBI investigations into emails containing SAP material, which is treason,or investigation on the Clinton foundation for accepting payments from foreign governments for 20% of US uranium. Voting for any other candidate would be a vote for Hillary. Anon 08/05/2016 DaisyK This is a good point, and I believe accurate. The only advantage to Trump is that a Republican congress might impeach him. A democratic congress will never impeach Clinton. She leads her answers with “So,…..” and she uses the word ‘like’ as a thought collector; much as a 14 year old girl might do. Drives me crazy. Had to change the channel, my attention was instantly derailed. Reply DaisyK 08/05/2016 @Cossack55 Do you know what Jill Stein is proposing? Here are some answers from Jill Stein’s questionnaire that she submitted to the Green Party: We will address racial injustice through a “National Action Plan for Racial Justice Now” Create 20 million Green Jobs Provide health care and education as human rights. Defend our public schools from privatization and provide tuition-free higher education for all students while eliminating the existing student debt burden. Create comprehensive, universal health care for all through an improved Medicare For All insurance program. Abolish the Electoral College and provide for the direct national election of the president by Instant Runoff Voting Here are some more of her ideas from her website: Advance workers rights to form unions Guarantee economic human rights, including access to food, water, housing, and utilities, with effective anti-poverty programs to ensure every American a life of dignity. Abolish student debt to free a generation of Americans from debt servitude. Guarantee tuition-free, world-class public education from pre-school through university. End high stakes testing and public school privatization. Set a $15/hour federal minimum wage. Make Wall Street, big corporations, and the rich pay their fair share of taxes. Protect Mother Earth: Lead on a global treaty to halt climate change. End destructive energy extraction: fracking, tar sands, offshore drilling, oil trains, mountaintop removal, and uranium mines On the positive side, she does want to end NSA surveillance, require GMO labeling, and establish a constitutional right to vote. (I thought we already had a constitutional right to vote.) Reply Lauren 08/05/2016 I may be wrong, but my understanding is that she believes the “constitutional” right to vote should extend to felons and illegals. The push to allow felons (those incarcerated for felonies, who are currently barred from registering to vote) is a huge push for the lib left because they want those people on THEIR rolls. The push to allow voting without showing picture ID is supposedly because the poor have less access to photo ID–which is just stupid, when states are required by federal law to make photo ID available to illegals and even provide translation services. This “disenfranchises the poor and those who don’t speak English.” I’ll let you draw your own conclusions beyond that. Reply Lauren 08/05/2016 No, thank you. Her positions are directly contrary to my own beliefs in many situations and she says that “negative interest rates” and “Quantitative easing” will pay for it all. *SMH* Reply So Cal Gal 08/05/2016 Hi Lauren and Daisy K, Wow… a whole lot of positions I don’t agree with and mix in Negative Interest and more QE to pay for it all (not even sure how Fed Policy pays for anything – but that’s a side road). It sounds like she has no clue of what this country actually needs. Good she doesn’t stand a snowball’s chance of winning. Reply cossack55 08/05/2016 The FED will do that regardless which oaf becomes president. The FED is the real power in the US and the CB’s are the real power worldwide. I just added Jill Stein as another candidate in the hopper, not someone I will be voting for. OTH, she would probably bring on the collapse a little faster. So….. Reply John Wheeler 08/05/2016 Honestly, I truly think this country is headed for disaster no matter WHO is elected president — and LOL that would include myself! About the only one who could turn this country around is Jesus himself, and he needs to be Lord, not president. As to the candidates actually on the ballot, I’m not happy with any of them, even the third parties, so my vote is going not to the one whose agenda I disagree with the least, but the one who I think has the least chance of getting her agenda implemented if she were to become president, and that is Green party candidate Jill Stein. Reply retnavybrat 08/06/2016 If the status quo in Congress remains after November, this is my ranking as to how much difficulty these potential Presidents will have getting most of their agenda through Congress (from most to least): 1. JS Reply Lord Snow 08/05/2016 Power. That is his drive, money simply isn’t enough. He is hardly altruistic in his race for the WH. That being said I still feel that he is the best of the worst we have to choose from. Reply Ron 08/05/2016 Obama has turned our once trusted allies against us, divided the races severely, made a mockery of the Senate and Congress..not to mention financially bankrupting this country. Having said that, and Clinton is his carry-on, what can we expect: Supreme Court Justices that are wacko in decision making as she can be, or doing away with the Constitution…what will become of our police forces, military and religious freedom. No, I don’t like Trump, but seeing the Clintons escape justice, buying the nomination and setting the groundwork to “fix” this election…what would happen when she would get in there? She really needs a retirement home, aka the Federal Prison. Reply 11HE9 08/05/2016 I remember when I actually thought my vote mattered. BOY was I naive!! TPTB have already decided who is going to be the next president. All this election crap is just a dog and pony show. Do you really think that those in power would allow us “serfs” to decide the fate of them? No way!! I am hearing the same statement from friends and family that are not preppers. “It doesn’t matter who is the next president, we are screwed either way”. That tells me more people are waking up. If only I could get them to start preparing. My advice stills falls on deaf ears. adapt and Overcome Reply poorman 08/05/2016 Thank you 11HE9. I completely agree with what you said. The outcome of this election was decided long ago. I am a believer in the six families theory. We don’t matter except as serf’s. Things will happen as TPTB decide not as we do. Reply Simmon 08/06/2016 11HE9, I am going to break ground on a bomb shelter if Hillary is elected because we will be at war with Russia and China!!! That is the difference people need to see. She is a warmonger. Reply 11HE9 08/06/2016 Not matter who gets elected we will be in a major war/wars. If Trump gets elected you don’t think that we will be in a war with China and/or Russia. Add Iran to that picture as well. If Trump gets in and does what he says about moving more factories, etc to the US and putting tariffs on goods from China that they will just sit back and let it happen while their economy crashes. Unless I’m wrong they have the largest military in the world (by number of troops) and everything we buy that is made in China has been financing it. No country that is a super power will sit back and let their country be economically destroyed. They will dump US dollars and/or go to war. Which means Russia and Iran (both allies) will be right their with them. Let’s forget they basically control N. Korea. The way I see it is no matter who gets elected (it will be Hillary) we are going to be at war. May want to start building that bunker now. Better to be proactive than reactive. Adapt and Overcome. Reply Lauren 08/06/2016 Not sure it will take that long. Judging by past behavior, I think we’ll have chaos after the election (regardless of who wins) with the winners people out in the streets celebrating and the losers people out rioting right alongside them. Not exactly a recipe for peaceful coexistence. Before the election we’ll likely see some riots as well as voting-location shenanigans. I’ll vote by mail. No way I’m getting in the middle of that particular circus. Reply Simmon 08/07/2016 11HE9,if China attacked us they would be shooting themselves in the foot. To be able to sell something or not at all what a choice. Hillary on the other hand wants war for the new world order. Russia is against that!!! Reply Patrick Henry 08/05/2016 I’ve been stating all along that I would vote for Anybody, to be against Clinton. Now I see what a completely ridiculous farce the whole political process has become, so now I’ll just take a pass on this and just stay home and be as prepared as I can be for the $HIT that will follow, and is sure to come! Reply Texas Two-Stepper 08/05/2016 I am so disgusted with US politics that I find myself thinking about NOT voting. I have never missed a presidential elections since 1968. Where are the statesmen that formed this country, that held this country during the civil war, WW1 and WW2? The main choice this election is between an untrustworthy liar and a boastful untried blowhard. When I vote, I will be looking very, very hard at OTHER choices. I happily admit that I am strongly conservative as I expect a lot of “preppers” are. (Did I mention that Wyoming is a little too liberal for me?) Republican and Democrat choices are not choices??? My wife says she “is gonna hold her nose and vote for Hillary”. My son on the other hand said the exact opposite. Here’s a thought for you. TEOTWAWKI happens on Nov 7th………………….. Oh my, we will just have to postpone the elections until this crisis is solved – by me – Barack Obama-President for life……. Reply DaisyK 08/05/2016 @Texas Two-Stepper “Where are all the statesmen?” They are afraid to run because of all the c–p the mainstream media throws at them AND their families. They don’t want to be defamed or have their past transgressions held up for the world to see. If they ever committed a high-school prank or if their wife ever posed nude or if their son ever got a DUI, then EVERYONE in the world will know and whatever it was, it will be painted by the opposing party as worse than it was. What modern statesman is without sin? And even if he/she is, what about all the relatives? Only egomaniacs will run today or in the future. Reply homebody 08/05/2016 Very good points. If you look at the facts uncovered to date; all the lies and corruption proven against Clinton compared to what against Trump? Yes he brags, says things that can be turned to appear racist, yes he can appear to be thin skinned… but what are the real comparisons of the two. Where is the real dirt? Reply Livin' in the Woods 08/05/2016 Perhaps everyone should put Ken down as a write-in candidate. Although he might change his name, to be more politically correct and appeal to the masses. Maybe….Ken Muhammed Caitlin Devontre Jorgustin. Reply Ladywest 08/05/2016 No, I didn’t vote for Clinton, contrary to popular opinion perhaps. I’m voting for the Libertarian guy whose name I can’t remember. Yes, the choices are that bad. I think the country can survive anyone but Trump. Okay, you can shoot now. I only hope your aim is as bad as cops under stress which is about 18% hits! See, I do have a sense of humor. When you’re as old as I am you have to have one! Reply EM 08/06/2016 Agreed and well said. Reply homebody 08/05/2016 I believe that the issues should determine who the population will support. Are we willing to continue the ongoing wars in so many countries around the world and expanding the conflict – middle east, south china sea, eastern Europe, …… which candidate will get us out of this mess and possibly avoid a world war? Can the money printing continue to support a failing economy and ever increasing debt? Which candidate will reduce expenditures, cut regulations, stop unfair trade practices by other countries? Can the country continue to exploit cheap labor (legal and illegal) so we do not have to clean our own pools, pick our own vegetables, slaughter our own cattle, …. which candidate will try to keep work for Americans? But we like cheap labor. The country is going into a drug induced comma (legal and illegal drugs). Is there a candidate that can stop this drift into oblivion – I do not think so and therefore support de-criminalizing drugs and giving them all they want. It would be hell for a while but we are headed there eventually. Our morals and ethics are shot. The biblical cities destroyed for sin had nothing on the depths we are going. When you can’t say Christmas, can’t oppose gay marriage, can’t expect government to uphold our laws, …. which candidate would try to change the direction we are going? The choices are not ideal but if we stay home and do not choose, I know where we are headed – see many other countries that have gone the same way and to my surprise, are still getting worse – slow death and decay. Reply Bluecatmatt 08/05/2016 Hold your nose and vote for Trump the alternative would be a disaster, as what was stated before both parties will want him impeached at the first chance, it only takes 2/3 that will be easy. The hard part is pissing off the Trump Faithful, I’m not sure just how many there are but we would find out rather quickly and as preppers this is not a jump up and revolt thing we lay in wait to survive and let the storm blow over. Reply Lauren 08/05/2016 Undecided. Thumper and Hitlery are right out. Saying one is a fascist and the other a socialist is just semantics. It’s complete control either way. I was looking at Gary Johnson, but it appears that he’s as bad as the other two–says he’s a Libertarian but has stated that he will push for Single-payer healthcare, expand gov’t intervention in education, believes in gov’t intervention in religion, etc. Those are not the actions of someone who believes in limited gov’t. So right now it looks like Darrell Castle (Constitution Party), unless I can find someone better, but he has NO political experience. I’m having a hard time even finding the names of the other people running. Reply homebody 08/05/2016 Lauren I hope that people posting on this site are open minded and more realistic that the general sheeple population. My point is that we should choose a candidate that is at least trying to turn this national catastrophe around and has a chance of winning against the she devil we know. Even, if we only see a small percentage of improvement it would be better than where we are going at present. Reply Lauren 08/05/2016 I’m not sure any of them can turn things around. The river is running downhill, and anyone trying to even slow it is likely to be washed away. They can try, but a lot of people have already been chewed up and spit out by this system. Unfortunate, but that’s the reality I see. I will make a decision and vote my conscience, regardless. Reply Nihilist 08/05/2016 You’re probably right. Whoever wins will get the blame when everything falls apart, even if they’re only in office for a month. Reply Lauren 08/05/2016 And remember–January 1 2017 is when the rest of ACA goes into effect! Brace for it! retnavybrat 08/06/2016 The problem with the Constitution Party this election year is that it’s not on the ballot in enough states to theoretically get that magic number of 270 Electoral College votes. The only two third party candidates that do are Johnson and Stein. Reply DaisyK 08/06/2016 Lauren, I just found out that Darrell Castle and Scott Bradley the presidential and vice presidential candidates for the Constitution Party are going to be in Byron WY on Aug 8 at 6:00 pm in a Meet the Candidates Forum. The Wyo Constitution party website doesn’t give an address, but Byron has only 550 people, so it shouldn’t be hard to find. I see that Joyce Collins is running for the State Legislature again. I still have her sign, so I will put it up. Last year she got 30+ % of the vote. The national Constitution Party is at http://www.constitutionparty.com/ Reply DaisyK 08/06/2016 There is a map on that site showing which states the Constitution Party is on the ballot. I see Wyoming is one of them. Since Hillary has no chance in Wyoming, it would be a good chance for me to exercise a protest vote. Thanks Lauren. Reply Simmon 08/05/2016 A vote for Hitlery is a vote to have them try to take your guns!!! Reply aka 08/05/2016 At this point it’s getting close to not needing to ‘take them’. Obama has it so that many companies can’t get a bank that will take a customer that sells anything remotely to do with guns. Same with credit stuff- what is it the “square”? and a couple others won’t take any customers that sells guns ammo etc?? Reply Simmon 08/06/2016 Aka,which is why we need a change!!! IMHO Reply homebody 08/05/2016 Your protest vote for freedom may just get the most corrupt woman in history elected to the top office of the country. Who goes from broke to $150,000,000 in five years of service to the country. Who gets off airplane to be greeted by little girls with flowers only to relate this event as being shot at by snipers. Who goes to bed on a night when your employees are being murdered in another country and you do not send any help,….. but you have heard all this before and some refuse to listen. Reply homebody 08/05/2016 Your protest vote may just get a corrupt woman elected to the top office in the country. Going from being broke to having $150,000,000 in five years in public office is suspect. A person in office that flies into a country to be greeted by little girls with flowers and then relates this story as being shot at by snipers is beyond despicable. Reply McGyver 08/05/2016 What an absolutely PERFECT analogy. Spot ON! Reply So Cal Gal 08/05/2016 I simply cannot vote for HC. To me, she represents more of the same – and worse. Setting aside her criminal activities, I have a lot of beefs about what she proposes. Her list of tax increases are small business and middle class nightmares, she wants no 2A, I think our issues with China, Russia, Iran, NK and others will get worse on her watch, and perhaps most importantly: she will load the Supreme Court with lefties who would be sitting for years after she leaves office. No thanks, can’t afford any of it. Sadly, Trump has come across as everything but presidential, so all the focus is on his controversial outbursts rather than her criminal acts… just as the DNC wants it. Although it’s tempting to vote for anyone other than the 2 front-runners, I realize that doing so throws away my vote… so I’ll take my chances with Trump. Sigh! Reply Lauren 08/05/2016 When people talk about Trump’s “outbursts” it makes me laugh. Historically fistfights and even duels on the floor of the Senate and House have been common. 🙂 It’s only been the last fifty years or so that politicians were expected to behave themselves. Reply McGyver 08/05/2016 Look on Youtube for some of the more robust senatorial fistfights in Taiwan. Epic! I seem to recall Canada had an incident recently where Trudeau’s kid clocked a lawmaker. Reply tango 08/05/2016 We must remember that the 2ND Amendment is on the line, hell the whole Constitution may be on the line if Hillary is elected. She has said as much. Gary Johnson supports more Muslim refugees, who knows what Stein supports. No 3rd party candidate can be elected, therefore they cannot make SCOTUS nominations. There are 2 choices Vote Trump! Reply Ladywest 08/05/2016 @Tango I agree that the 2nd amendment is at stake and that I fear Clinton is the greatest threat to that. I fear for the 1st amendment as well and just observed quiet protestors at a Trump rally holding up a pocket constitution being kicked out and the crowd booing Americans holding up a constitution. Seems I remember someone named Paul Ryan (not a Muslim, I believe) holding up something identical but wasn’t booed. I must be too old and I’m missing something important here. First babies, then the constitution… Please vote your conscience. Reply kevinH 08/05/2016 First, I will not be voting FOR any of the idiots currently running. I will be voting against one particular lying, unethical, smarmy, know it all, carpet bagger, namely Hitlery Clinton. A vote for any of the third party candidates is essentially a vote for her. Staying home and bemoaning our lack of quality candidates is essentially a vote for her. So, in November, I will be holding my nose and voting for Trump. I have always been convinced that Clinton was utterly un-electable due to her lack of personality, her nasty know it all attitude, her proven track record of constantly lying and thinking it is her birthright to rule the land. That is until Trump was nominated. The world is going mad, dear God please help us, if this is the “best and brightest” that our country can produce, then surely we are doomed. Reply Lauren 08/05/2016 Which is exactly why the Media smarmed all the other candidates until he had the nomination in the bag. They were pretty much silent on Thumper until then. He was the ONLY candidate guaranteed to lose to Hitlery. Or so they think. It was really interesting to watch during the primaries. If he made some snarky comment, the media was silent. Let him scream bloody murder about one of the other candidates, no coverage. But let the other candidates fight back, oh, THEN it was war, and the candidate who wasn’t all nice and sweet in the face of his idiocy got butchered by the media and dropped out of the race. Every time. Only once all the others dropped out did they start in on Thumper. Now HE is the bad guy. The problem is, he thrives on their behavior, and the worse it gets the more people get fed up with the media shenanigans and gravitate to him. From my perspective the media tried to get the least viable candidate through their own version of “vetting” in order to make sure Hitlery would win. Well, they got what they wanted, now they get to deal with the unintended consequences–a non-viable candidate that’s giving their favorite a run for her money. Or her power? Whatever. Reply Lauren 08/05/2016 Although it’s also entirely possible that Thumper himself was pushing the media coverage. Reply So Cal Gal 08/05/2016 Hi Kevin, I think all of our best and brightest are staying far away from politics – and who can blame them? We’re left with career politicians, people with all sorts of crazy visions of how they will make the future “better”, and people who have nothing better to do and enjoy seeing their names in headlines. Each of us have some ideas of how to turn things around, but who the heck would want to subject themselves to running for office? Reply Peanut Gallery 08/05/2016 How is it that Ken’s poll has Trump leading by a large margin yet the media polls say that Hitlery is leading? So I’m not surprised by the poll results. No insult intended for those liberals who actually DO prep. I know there are some of you reading. Reply So Cal Gal 08/05/2016 Hi PG, I think Kevin hit it on the head. People leaning to the right are far more likely to prep (or recognize the need to prep) than people on the left, so Ken’s site would appeal to more people on the right than left. In my experience, people I’ve know on the left tend to think the the .g o v will be there to help everyone in any situation… and they will be the first to be screaming when an emergency hits and their .g o v is not there to take care of them. Reply So Cal Gal 08/05/2016 As Lauren points out and I did not, I mean no offense to anyone here who is on the left and a prepper. So let’s say that there are two “viable” candidates. Two pizza parlors on opposite ends of a big field. Those two pizza parlors put a lot of money into being the biggest and the best, fronting massive fireworks displays, making sure that their company always wins. In the middle of the field is another pizza parlor. No displays, no huge bankroll, just good food. The two big guys are mad at each other. They don’t see the little guy sitting quietly in the middle of the field. Then they notice…each year, a few more people go to the small, humble pizza parlor in the middle of the field. Now they’re really mad. They put everything they have into smashing the little guy. They fire their fireworks at the building. They put a lot of money into killing that little pizza parlor. But for some reason, they’re getting even less business than before they crushed the little guy down there. It takes them a while to notice… Now there are TWO pizza parlors down there in the field, quietly going about their business with little fanfare. While the big guys scream and bluster, their stores get rundown and moldy, their pizza isn’t really good any more because they’re putting so much money into their vendetta. And the FOUR little guys down there in the field are doing good business. But NO! That business belongs to the big guys! Now they’re FURIOUS! They redouble their efforts, and even (attempt to) work together. They spend millions on advertising campaigns against the little guys down there in the field. They try to flood the field. They spend millions more telling their clients that if they buy pizza down there they’re just helping the OTHER big guy win. In the years that they’ve been blustering and screaming, the thriving community of pizza parlors, and stores, and service stations has grown into a city, down there in the field. It may take years. But a vote for evil is a vote for evil. I will vote for a good candidate who supports my values. Each election cycle more people do. And the big guys are starting to notice. When the big guys pump money into denigrating the little guys, we know we’re winning. Previously they haven’t bothered. But now…the big guys are losing, and they know it. Saying that a vote for anyone but your candidate is a vote for the other candidate—it’s giving in. It’s caving. They don’t want you thinking, or voting your conscience. They want you marching in lock-step, afraid to deviate. Because if you deviate, they lose. Reply DaisyK 08/06/2016 Lauren, That is a very good posting. Coattail-riding Democrats elected to con-gress will push through new gun control and even more attacks on Christian morality and all signs of good old-fashioned America will be wiped from the Earth, and purged from history. The fat lady has sung. All the “neverTrumpers” who seem to want Clinton to win and foolishly hope to get a “real conservative” (meaning another damn neocon) in office next election are going to be sorely disappointed. There will be ZERO chance of ever again electing anyone even remotely “conservative”. Reply Mr. R 08/06/2016 Republicans nominated the wrong guy. We get what we deserve. Reply stophel 08/06/2016 Who would have been the right guy? The natural Canadian-born Cuban? The Republicans have been nominating the wrong guy for many decades. But yes, most of us do get what they deserve… unfortunately, they drag the few of us that don’t deserve it along with them. >:( Reply Simmon 08/06/2016 To all the people not voting for Trump, if Hillary gets elected enjoy camp FEMA! Reply Dennis 08/07/2016 Agreed. Reply Dennis 08/07/2016 Don’t know where this post above came from, but it wasn’t me. Either another Dennis or some one is building a history against me. She will get to you eventually. But hey, we are all on the list so you are in good company…LOL!! Reply cash 08/07/2016 Donald Trump’s Tax plan would Save me Money……I’m VOTING TRUMP Reply CR 08/07/2016 Will my one vote really have much impact against an illegal who wants to vote 10 times with no way to prove that he did? This won`t be an election, it`ll be a railroading. With most Americans preoccupied with the effect of what may be the worst stock market crash in history, which is possibly looming just around the corner( before the election, conveniently). The last thing on a lot of people`s minds will be voting.I figured all of the gov. massive ammo purchases, etc. were probably in anticipation of a revolt once Hillary is given the White House, and proceeds with her promise to enact her policies against our 2nd amendment. Reply cash 08/07/2016 If you do not Vote for Trump, regardless of who you vote for on the other side,it will be a Vote for Hillary. I’m Praying she does not get it and we can hold on to the republic a little while longer and try to turn the direction. If you think your vote does not count, and you stay home and not vote, then its a vote for Hillary. I choose to vote. People want a change so lets do it in the Voting Booth. VOTE Reply Slayer of Sacred Cows 08/09/2016 “Here’s two plates of shit. Which one are you going to eat?” That’s exactly what’s being asked of us. Stop voting for rulers and embrace freedom. At least try to pretend that you’re not cattle on a tax farm. Google voluntaryism. Reply SeenAlot 08/19/2016 We’ve had a Drunk, rich, actor, catatonic, disabled and more why not a Trump? He’s not on the inside not afaird to speak a nonpolitcal correct mind. Or another 50 year parisite insider sucking everthing dry. Reply Linda 08/20/2016 I agree, totally! Reply SuzyQ 10/24/2016 Gotten a lot of good info off this website. Prepping not for the nuclear holocaust but because of a National Geographic TV show a few months back about the effects of an eruption of the Yellowstone caldera (and my own personal fears about a hack of the electric grid). So we all respect the First Amendment, right? Because the Founding Fathers put the First Amendment FIRST, right? So, let me have my say, then hate on if you will… Trump is only out for Trump. He got into it as a joke, and then, holy he11, it started to catch fire, and then he started to believe his own spew. There are no two people on the planet who have been under more law enforcement or congressional or media scrutiny than the Clintons, and there’s nobody standing in line to “lock her up,” for any reason. Melania said she feels like she has two children at home, her young son and her husband, Mister “Locker Room Talk” guy. Believe the wisdom of women. I’m voting for the grown-up in the room. Her. Reply SuzyQ 10/24/2016 I’ve worked in Washington. I actually got a bill through Congress and to the President’s desk this year – totally nonpartisan, designed to help all our citizens, nothing anyone could object to. Emergency alerts and warnings! Congress actually does some good stuff. I don’t believe there’s any vast DC conspiracy against the populace. Some pockets of obstinacy, yes, but those of us who are engaged chip away at them and make progress. This paranoia about “the government” is misplaced. Don’t fear a government takeover. Fear an explosion of the Yellowstone caldera. Or a takedown of the electric grid. “Lights Out” is pretty spot on. Reply NRP 10/25/2016 @ SuzyQ You’ll not get an argument from me on Thumper. I seriously don’t care for either of the two major candidates. BUT I do have a question for you, and please don’t take this anyway but just a question…. Is Trump and Clinton the best this country have? I mean come on now, from the sounds of your post I would vote for you in a minute before either of these to Pieces of Work. FYI, I happen to agree with you on the Yellowstone and “Lights Out”. Unfortunately I see the .gov continually removing the rights of We-The-People, and that is what worries me the most. The next generations are in deep dodo if this continues. I do disagree slightly about “and there’s nobody standing in line to “lock her up,” for any reason” But when TPTB say no to the FBI, DOJ and others what ya going to do? NRP Reply SuzyQ 10/26/2016 Thanks for responding, NPR (and I am stocking toilet paper!!). I’m more of a behind the scenes person by nature – couldn’t walk dogs at the local animal shelter because I’d want to take all of them home, but I revamped their accounting system, MUCH to the relief of the bookkeeper! Personally I couldn’t handle the intense scrutiny candidates face these days. I don’t have too many skeletons in the closet (we all have a few), but I’m pretty private by nature. And, having worked with our state legislature, I couldn’t keep my butt in the seat long enough to endure the (mostly boring) public hearings on bills. We were without power for 8 days after an ice storm some years back, and 2 days without power over Christmas a few years ago, so I worry about nature much more than the political machine. I guess I just don’t see The Government as The Enemy. There are a lot of useless bureaucrats, but I know a lot of folks at FEMA, FCC, NOAA who are very dedicated and hard working, not to mention a lot of Congressional staffers who work hard and care passionately about the issues they’re tasked with. I guess I just have a bad reaction to the “hell’s gonna break loose if Hillary wins” attitude. If hell breaks loose, it will be from disaffected Trumpkins. Neither one is great, but she’s infinitely better than a juvenile, egomaniacal, small-handed vulgarian who’s kissing up to Putin. Reply NRP 10/27/2016 @ SuzyQ Having the “power out” or as a lot of people say “Lights Out” is surely one of the major concerns of a lot of people on my side of the fence. As you probably felt with 8 days out it’s not something that everyone is ready for, hence one of my major priorities. Well that and preparing for the total melt down of the civilized world HAHAHA As one that also has a “colorful past” I’m not going into the skeleton discussion, but let’s just say I can still pass a background check, meaning the .gov has not found all of those skeletons yet… LOL, Gata Love it. Interesting your take on the Bureaucrats, I also know quite a lot of the local people that are game fully employed with our tax moneys, unfortunately I also work on the other side and see massive waste in 80% of what the .gov around here tries to do, they are extremely inefficient and wasteful. Yet they always believe that the public is unable to do the task they blunder at, I have dozens of 100% proven examples and really don’t have time to discuss them all, but in my 45 years of private sector, I know for a fact that the private sector can accomplish the same “work” for a fraction of the cost. In the same breath I know there are some .gov folks that try their best with what they are given to work with within the .gov restraints, for those I do applaud, unfortunately I believe the general view of the .gov has grown into an overpowering monster that’s self-feeding off the people that they are to be serving. It seems that everyday there are more restrictions that are placed upon the people and we (the general public) are resenting it more and more. Some seem to forget the millions of laws that are “on the books” that are simply ignored or abused by the same .gov that is supposable there to help those that are being crushed by that same .gov yet if someone in the public does something, they are destroyed by that same .gov. The EPA is a perfect example, or the NSA trying to protect the “people” yet are the first to admit that abuse the “intent” to collect information on us all, it is none or their concern how many rolls of TP I have. Last I remember hearing is around 90 million working people are now our of the workforce, 1/3 of that workforce that is working is .gov employed, and more than an “non-adjusted” unemployment of near 25+%, maybe you can explain why it is the .gov tends to power-coat the “real” numbers? Other than to make the situation look better than it actually is. 40% of the population is on some type of .gov subsistence, illegal immigration is ramped, let’s not even begin with ISIS and the wars, fully open borders, the EPA turned my/our local river Orange with toxins for a month, increasing taxes, out of control Obamacare (AZ will have a 125% increase this year for example). And here is one I really like, FEMA, recommends a 3 day supply of foods and preps… Really? Oh yes, let’s us not forget the nearly $20 trillion in debt bundled with all of the above. Please do not get me wrong, I’m not attacking you personally by any means, I’m trying to discuss a little of the “other sides” thinking. Personally I do not trust the .gov to use even the TP correctly, all alone dig the US out of this MASSIVE hole without a complete collapse, from my own experiences I have found there is only one person I can count on in times of need….. Myself. So I really do not believe that the .gov can dig itself out of the distrust and dislike of the public’s eye. As far as Thumper and Killary? Well I don’t really believe either will do this country ANY GOOD AT ALL, all I see coming is even more division and hatred in the people (and for the .gov), more socialism that will only enforce and call for more .gov controls, more exploding taxes and even more corruption in the .gov and it’s leaders, it’s a vicious cycle. I have asked the question many times, “Are these two the best the US has to offer?” I just hope we as a country can come back together from the massively split country we are, to maybe, just maybe, get back to a Great Country again, for I feel/know we are current lost. Just like your dislike for Thumper, there are an equal amount that can call Killary all the names in the book and site 100’s of things she has done. THAT’S what I mean by a split and haltered in the country. The people are not going to come back together, so please be prepared for what “may” come. Be well NRP Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply Save my name and email in this browser for the next time I comment.
