Typically a midterm election (between presidential elections) favor the political party other than that of the sitting president. Will this 2018 election be different?
Will there really be a so called ‘blue’ wave (democrat sweep)?
Or is the ‘red’ base fired up like they were (or even close to) how they were in 2016 to get out and vote?
Most Important Yet?
It seems to me, given today’s apparent and major differences between ideologies, that each ‘side’ may be looking at this election as “the most important yet”. What do you think? Is it?
If you ask me, I feel that this one may be especially pivotal. And if by some chance it turns out that there’s no blue wave, that side is going to be very troubled to say the least. In today’s political climate things can (and probably will) turn real ugly in one way or another. Lets hope not. But be ready if they do.
Political Ideological Direction
The political ideological direction of either side is pretty darn clear.
If the power of Congress is handed over to the Left, I believe that most of us know the direction that this nation will be taken. That is, hard left (or attempt thereof). Open borders, higher taxes, restrictions on 1st & 2nd Amendment, Trump & policies take-down, further racism towards whites especially white men. You know, just little things like that…
If the power of Congress remains with the Right, today’s policies will continue. Things like further moves to control legal immigration, more efforts towards ‘fair’ international trade (fair to Americans), recent tax cuts made permanent, America first. You know, just little things like that…
Get out and Vote
I know that a website like ours is likely made up predominantly of conservatives, right leaning, and even some probable libertarians.
I hope that YOU take the time (it doesn’t take that much time) to get out to your local polling place and vote on Tuesday.
The way I see it, if you don’t, then you might as well be putting in a vote for ‘the other side’. Because that’s the reality of what you’re doing if you stay at home.
I also don’t want to hear the excuse that your vote doesn’t matter. That’s an excuse to stay on the couch. If everyone thinks that their vote doesn’t matter, then you end up putting decisions into just those who actually do go out and vote.
Midterm elections are always a lower turnout than presidential elections. However this midterm feels like it’s pretty important. So do your civic duty and vote please. If you can convince a like minded other person to vote too, that’s all the better.
What Will Happen If…
That said, what’s your opinion:
Given that today’s Democrat party Left has become a party of extreme Left, if the Left takes the House on Tuesday night, what will be some of the things we will likely see as a result? (Short term and/or Long term)
