Although I have a VERY different opinion (continue reading!), I have no issue with the right of all those high school kids to march as they did this past weekend. We all have the right to peaceably protest. It is a protected right by the Constitution of the United States of America.
It is a human right and is protected in the United States by the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which prohibits Congress from enacting legislation that would abridge the right of the people to assemble peaceably.
That said, I have several observations to mention, which are indicative of where we’re headed and the apparent future of this great Republic.
How quickly it was organized
How many of you noticed and wondered how quickly these HUGE anti- g u n / anti- 2nd Amendment protests came together, and coordinated all across the country?
Something like this doesn’t happen without massive organization and money. It wasn’t random high school kids calling each other up and saying, hey, let’s go to Washington or let’s march in our town this weekend. Rather, this was most likely organized by the same well funded organizations that many of us are aware of.
It is my opinion that this massive protest plan was all ready to go, sitting on the shelf until it was time to hit the go button. Parkland happened, and it was Go time.
(Update) Just read an article that reveals the following:
The anti-gun protests were organized by Everytown for Gun Safety, an American nonprofit organization founded in 2014, largely bankrolled by Michael Bloomberg, who also founded the group.
‘Everytown for Gun Safety’ was founded in 2014 and is largely funded by ActBlue. As of April 2016, ActBlue had raised more than $1.1 billion for Democratic candidates and progressive organizations at various levels of politics, making it the largest fundraising tool in United States politics.
And apparently, ActBlue is an offshoot from the Democratic National Committee.
It has been shown time and again how the anti- g u n groups are well motivated, well funded, and will continue to be opportunistic towards their ideals. Whereas those who consider themselves pro-America / pro-Constitution are not apparently as well motivated, well funded, and well organized in such a way to take noticeable public action.
That said, I do realize however that if counter protests were to take place, they would not be publicized by the mainstream. This of itself De-motivates. If 100,000 pro-America / pro-Constitution people showed up in Washington, the mainstream media would barely touch it. The comparitive coverage would be something like 10% compared with this weekend. The MSM is a big part of the problem. They are 91% left. It is proven and documented. And that’s very bad for balance. Very bad for this Republic.
My main point is that the left gets out there ‘in your face’ so to speak while the right, not so much, if ever. Maybe we’re too busy working to have time. I don’t know. But it’s true. I hear complaining, but what public ‘in your face’ action is taken? And who or what organizations would coordinate? The right side of the equation doesn’t seem to be coordinated, and the left side of the equation likes that just fine…
The anti- g u n message itself
I also have a protected right to disagree with the message and to voice a differing opinion.
The problem though with today’s radicals is they tend to become highly agitated and even violent when their ideals are challenged. It’s as though they do not have the ability to discuss or debate. Instead they explode. This is dangerous.
The message that was delivered by the high school kids this past weekend was (is) flawed. If any of you read some of the signs that they were holding up, it was ridiculous to say the least. The accusations towards the right and towards the NRA were outrageously false and entirely inflammatory.
The scary thing is this: That’s really what they believe (the signs they were holding – the things they were saying – their emotions – the look in their faces).
They truly (along with much of the mainstream public) believe that the g u n is the reason. It is the blame for these school shootings. They really really do think and believe that.
The anti- g u n ‘higher ups’ and their organizations however know the truth full well (it’s the person, not the g u n). But they use these kids (or anyone) to further their movement towards the eventual abolishment of our right to own one (or however many we want).
They really don’t ‘get’ that when a bad person wants a g u n, that they do not buy one at the g u n store. Rather, they buy one on the streets. Stolen. What bad guy is going to go through a NICS background check when knowingly it will be rejected? Answer: none. So another law won’t stop that bad guy. It will only adversely affect the good guys.
There are also laws and methods to prohibit the mentally challenged from buying one. A problem is that many of these laws are not being enforced like they should. Just look at Parkland (the motivation for this weekend’s protests). Local authorities did nothing about the well known troubled kid. Nothing. But we don’t hear that in the mainstream. We hear it on alternative news sources, but not the news sources that the mainstream listen to. No. They keep to their anti- g u n agenda.
Our g u n rights are protected, and the reason why it exists
I’m not sure if these high school kids know it or not, but there is a 2nd Amendment which protects the rights of Americans to own g u n s. And it “shall not be infringed”.
There’s one thing that I’m pretty sure of, and that is they have not been taught the real reason why the Second Amendment exists. Here’s a clue: It’s not for hunting. No. The founders knew that an expanding government would eventually become tyrannical. And the 2nd Amendment was designed for its citizens to defend against and overthrow such a government should it ever need to happen. Yes, that’s the truth of the matter. Look it up for yourself.
The high school anti- g u n n e r s are actually marching based on their 1st Amendment rights, however I wonder how many of them know or understand the facts about our 2nd Amendment.
The attention given to the anti- g u n protests
Predictably the mainstream media covered this wall to wall in one way or another. Americans around the country, people around the world, could tune in and watch the future of America unfold before their eyes.
Like I said earlier, much media attention is given to anti-American ideals and ‘anything’ that they can construe to be anti- g u n (never let an opportunity go to waste).
The decades of slow and steady brainwashing (in our schools and from the media) of the vulnerable ‘minds of mush’ in America have brought us to the point where I believe things are speeding up for the worse (from my perspective).
I literally have no hope remaining that somehow the correct message will get out or that somehow the MSM will get back to 50/50. No. It’s going to keep on hammering home until they get it all.
The agreement with the message by so many of the mainstream public
This goes hand in hand with what I just said. The public gets bombarded daily with the highly tailored messaging from the media. And repeated messaging definitely affects how people eventually think. Even if the message is wrong, wrong, wrong.
Unfortunately there are quite apparently fewer and fewer people who have been taught to think. There are so, so many people (especially those younger than me – I’m in my 50’s) who only seem to react emotionally. Logic, common sense, and critical thinking are rare these days.
A dumbed down public. What does that do for our future?
The up and coming demise from ‘altered’ minds of the young
The indoctrination of our young, our college aged, and even those in their 30’s now, is complete. And their indoctrination continues to be enforced by the daily mainstream as the agenda marches forward.
Will they wait until us older geezers are dead and gone before they trash the place completely or will they make their move before that?
There is no doubt whatsoever in my mind that we are living in incredible historical times for this nation. We have been for a number of years. However we are ever closer to the definitive turning point where it becomes clear as a bell that it has ‘turned’.
