A most dangerous precedent has been set, an Orwellian nightmare.
Hiding behind a ‘Politically Correct’ term, “Hate Speech”, on August 6th both Apple and Facebook have evidently coordinated a take down of InfoWars (Alex Jones) from their servers. Apparently Facebook has now permanently banned their page.
“Spotify, YouTube, and Apple have also censored the right-wing outlet as liberal media has been aggressively targeting platforms that host InfoWars content.” source (gatewaypundit)
From InfoWars host Paul Joseph Watson on Twitter early Monday morning:
Facebook has permanently BANNED Infowars.
For unspecified “hate speech”. They didn’t even tell us what the offending posts were.
This sets a chilling precedent for free speech.
To all other conservative news outlets – you are next.
The great censorship purge has truly begun.
Whether you love or loathe Infowars, this now confirms that Big Tech is working with legacy media to silence independent media.
“But it’s just a private company which can do what it likes”.
No it’s not “just a private company”.
This is a Big Tech monopoly working hand in hand with the establishment media to unfairly silence dissenters.
This is Chinese-style web control. Here and now. In the west.
In my estimation, “hate speech” is a great deception put on by leftists who hate freedom.
The indoctrinated phrase has enabled the inventors to define the speech they deem “hateful” and subsequently penalize those who may speak those words or ideals. It gives the inventors a means of control over the populace.
If you’re not on ‘their page’, they hate that you speak at all.
They don’t want dialogue which may threaten their ideals.
The 1st Amendment is there to protect speech, to protect the words of descent, to protect those who say controversial things, to protect opposing viewpoints – even those which are apparently ‘far’ one way or the other from one’s own perspective.
Although these Tech Giants are private companies, and they are allowed to ban as they please, the fact is they are beyond huge. Many argue that they ought to be regulated or broken up given their massive influence.
Liberal Tech Giants Facebook, Twitter, Google-YouTube have all stepped up their harassment of conservative publishers since the 2016 election. I have clearly and statistically seen it happening.
The far left understand that Conservatives get some or much of their news from online publishers (beyond the alphabet channel soup of mainstream left-media).
Given that Trump stunned the powers-that-be in 2016, they’re not going to let it happen again (or do their best not to let it continue).
It’s all about Google, Yahoo, Apple and Facebook trying to stop Trump.
What’s a good way to do it? To ban those with opposing points of view.
It has begun in earnest. They’re desperate. The dominoes will begin to fall.
Jones was first. Others will follow.
Since the election The Gateway Pundit found from traffic analysis that Facebook has eliminated 93% of traffic to top conservative websites.
** Twitter is shadowbanning and censoring conservative lawmakers and conservative publishers.
** YouTube is shutting down conservative pages and demonitizing several others.
** Facebook began stamping out conservative news in January 2017.
On Monday Apple removed Infowars podcasts.
“Apple confirmed on Monday that it had removed five out of six podcasts, which includes Jones’ infamous “The Alex Jones Show” as well as a number of other InfoWars audio streams. The news was originally reported by BuzzFeed News.”
It is interesting that Facebook and Apple would ban Infowars on the same day.
It makes you wonder if these tech giants are working together to throttle conservative content online?
And who is behind the scene pulling the strings?
I don’t care what you think about InfoWars. The fact is that conservative voices are under assault by the Mega Tech Giants who control the narrative for the vast majority. And the situation is a clear and present danger to our freedom in my estimation.
If you are not on their narrative, they are coming for you. It’s on.
