The strongest earthquake to hit western Australia in 50 years occurred yesterday near Kalgoorlie-Boulder and registered as a magnitude 5.2. This is a reminder that earthquakes can occur in unexpected locations, so be prepared. 2010 has been an active year so far.
Quake hits western Australia Mining Town
Last week, during April 13, a 6.9 magnitude earthquake injured 12,000 and left 2,064 victims in China. The earthquake occurred in a western Tibetan region in the province of Quighai. The earthquake flattened many of the regions buildings, many of which were temporary settlements for herdsmen.
