Assault on Home Schooling

It was in 1937 when Adolf Hitler said: “The youth of today is ever the people of tomorrow. For this reason we have set before ourselves the task of inoculating our youth with the spirit of this community of the people at a very early age….This Reich stands, and it is building itself up for the future, upon its youth. And this new Reich will give its youth to no one, but will itself take youth and give to youth its own education and its own upbringing.”

39 mostly socialist-leaning, communist or former communist territories/countries have banned home schooling. What about here in the U.S.? Are we headed in that direction?

Here’s one example of what the current U.S. regime thinks about home schooling…

The Romeike family fled to the United States because Germany barred them from homeschooling. They obtained asylum, but the Obama administration appealed and obtained an order from a higher court that the family must return to Germany. The Obama administration has argued in court that parents essentially have no right to determine how and what their children are taught, leaving the authority with the government.

Michael Donnelly, a director for the Home School Legal Defense Association recently said, “…there are already too many voices in the United States that want to advance the idea that the state must control education for the safety of the state or other reasons;” “Why should we think it couldn’t or won’t happen here [banning home schooling]?”

“Can’t a government that can order you to get health care…tell parents they can’t allow their children to get certain kinds of counseling or that they must have a particular kind of medical treatments or that certain religious speech is intolerant and may not be permitted or must be punished, or that only national curricular standards are acceptable for all children, etc. – can’t a government like that order you to send your children to school? And then punish you if you don’t?”

Socialized governments realize the importance of socializing and indoctrinating children through public schools. It is also well known that communists are patient while pushing their agenda through generations of youth – a brainwashing.

Here in the U.S., a parent was recently arrested during a school meeting while he stood up to ask some pointed questions regarding a federal curriculum. Clearly, the state does not want questions and is putting out a chilling effect by punishing those who ask them.

Text books are being written to distort and alter the truth, even here in the United States.

Regarding our public schools, we sometimes hear about our traditional values being squashed, our national pride and identity being ridiculed, our children being dumbed-down, our standards lowered, political-correctness indoctrination, etc… all with the idea that the state should decide how children are educated.

While there is little doubt that many of our schools are good, very good, or even exceptional, there is also little doubt that ‘state’ agendas are being pushed, nurtured, and mandated in some of our schools.

It is the duty and responsibility of parents to stay informed as to what is being taught our children. Do not sit idly by. Ask questions and challenge. Our modern survival is dependent upon our youth. Our youth will grow up and will be the new us. It’s up to us to determine the direction. When you start hearing talk about how home-schooling is somehow bad for our kids… beware. While there are pros and cons to home-schooling, it is my opinion that these decisions should belong with the parents. After all… the kids belong to the parents, yes? Or do they belong to the state…
