Listen up folks… As the election cycle is beginning to heat up yet once again, and as we all begin to endure the relentless bombardment of news snippets and sound bites from the next batch of D’s, R’s, and whoever else manages to get ‘air-time’, there’s something very important that you need to remind yourself of – and it’s especially true today…
Don’t look to politicians to liberate you or to save you. Only YOU will save you!
They are just politicians!
Think about that…
Here’s more:
Many of you may already know that today’s politicians are, in many ways, two sides of the same coin. They are beholden to the money power structure (no matter which side of the coin they’re on) – and that’s true no matter what they will tell you.
The ONLY time that a politician will seem to represent you (and some are much better at convincing you than others) is during an election cycle.
I have been around long enough to have voted in enough elections and to have endured enough pre-election propaganda (and promises) – and to have witnessed enough post-election ‘assimilation’ into the ‘machine’ (where ‘we’ apparently vanish from their radars) – that I know how it ‘really’ works.
While I am NOT suggesting that you give up on voting (it’s our only peaceful recourse), what I AM suggesting is that you realize that these people are just politicians. They are people. No different from any other human being, except they’ve chosen a ‘career’ path of being a politician. The are NOT saviors. The will NOT liberate you. It’s NOT going to happen. Period.
Very UNLIKE the way it was intended, today’s politicians are in it for the career. Whereas the founding intentions were for people (representatives) to take a temporary leave from their existing job/life/career to truly represent the people’s interests from back home. Today? No way. It’s a career choice (with all the benefits) to be a life-long politician. Today it’s about the money. The BIG money.
These politicians are not going to save you or liberate you.
Only YOU will save you.
We are a nation of 320 million people who are ‘led’ (?!) by 1 president, 100 senators, and 435 representatives. That’s 536 elected politicians. Likewise, your state and local elected ‘representatives’. They’re all in it for the career. While the word, ‘all’ is not entirely accurate – I think you get the drift… I would speculate that the dream of many a local politician is to make it to the state level. Then perhaps the ultimate dream by making it to the ‘big time’ FED level. That’s where the big money is…
Okay – enough of the sarcasm. Let’s get down to brass tacks.
While I care deeply about the direction this nation is headed, and while I will continue to vote in every election, I have come to the conclusion (some considerable time ago) that this great ship, Titanic, is too big to turn around – and we’re navigating waters that are filled with Icebergs. We’ve already taken several hits and gashes to the hull, and there are some major leaks and flooded compartments. In fact the ship is listing to one side and I DEFINITELY hear the music playing happily up on deck.
These politicians are not going to save you or liberate you.
Only YOU will save you.
The heck with them. Get your own life in order. Shut off the mainstream news and focus on YOUR life and the things that you can do to weather the coming storm.
What are these things? Only you can decide. But I will suggest that you not do anything stupid. Get yourself out of the system as best you can. Don’t burden yourself with additional debt. Don’t be tricked into living beyond your means. Become more self sufficient. Become more self reliant. Become more independent. Even if you are in some way relying on the government today (no matter what it is), try to imagine your life IF that assistance were to diminish or be eliminated. Pull yourself up and do what you have to do to ensure your own health and safety. Focus on the ‘good’ that is around you. It’s there – you just have to look for it. After awhile you will see it more and more. If you have little – be happy with what you have. If you have lots – be thankful that you were so blessed.
These politicians are not going to save you or liberate you.
Only YOU will save you.
After agreeing 1000% all I have to say is;
God Save This Great Republic
“Whereas the founding intentions were for people (representatives) to take a temporary leave from their existing job/life/career to truly represent the people’s interests from back home.”
I wonder ‘if’ it was still this way today (non-career), or if representatives had term limits (not long enough to be swallowed up by the machine and big money interests instead of our own interests), would things be okay today? I would suggest that they might be quite different. There’s much more too it, I know, however it certainly would have helped. Business and money has ALWAYS influenced politics, however it is so entirely out of control today…
Ken you bring up an excellent point on Term Limits.
There are a handful of men and women in Congress today who possess the Freedom Minded Ideology, yet none of them have voluntarily stepped down after one or two terms and none of them (if my memory serves) ran on a platform that included Term Limits.
That in itself tells me that (currently) we remain in the same boat with nothing but socialist minded politicians and none of them truly interested in Preserving (or replacing lost) Liberties.
God Save This Great Republic
Why not just save ourselves a lot of time and money and eliminate the executive and legislative branches and have the Fortune 500 corporations establish a Governing Board for the US. What would be the difference? Of course the MSM would lose billions in advertising every two years, but since they would have reps on the board I’m sure they could vote themselves a stipend from the taxpayers.
Ah, America, we knew thee well. Rest in peace.
What is poorly realized is that many multinational corporations and banks are not “running” the Governments, but are, themselves, run, and controlled, and work for, agents created by the Governments. Ask yourself, who would have all human knowledge and technology at their disposal? Who has the power to make money out of thin air? Having all the knowledge, would also mean…having all the power. Whose business is it to actively collect and to gain all sorts of human information and technology? What could stop any “business” who had such resources?
When I left the NSA, I was offered many jobs DOING THE SAME THING, by “civilian” companies. Came to discover these firms..giant firms..are all fronts for the same Intelligence Community I had just decided to leave. Thing is these entities are utterly outside the purview of Washington, not subject to budget controls, or limited in any way. The offers were good. The trouble was their guiding political philosophy was the same, and this philosophy was WHY I left the NSA in the first place. Collectivist/Socialism.
Perhaps more like a revolving door between gubmint and corporations. Just look where many of the cabinet secretaries come from and return to when they leave “office”. One hand washes the other. Oh, BTW, the Fed is a corporation and tho they do not run the mint, they collude with Treasury to “print” money.
All is on schedule according to ” the plan”. The golden rule still applies- ” He that has the gold, makes the rules “. Empires do not “fall”, they are pushed! Loss of morals and values, urban decay, unemployment, corruption, inflation, etc. And what may possibly be the two” last straws “, if you will, the loss of industry, and the demoralization( I think that I may have just made a word) of our military through the dismissal of an unbelievable number of upper echelon CO`s along with constantly being involved in unnecessary wars.
Politicians–even if conservatives win in the state, they give you a tax break then force a 30% property tax increase at the same time.
A Mine is shutting down laying off 700 workers and my coworkers want politicians to fix it. I agree with that comedian that there is so much stupidity in America it is causing turbulence when he flies over.
Politicians will throw you under the bus at any time.
Just look at New Jersey’s Governor Christy. He made a deal with the state workers on pensions in 2011. Now he say’s that the law he signed is unconstitutional, that it’s unconstitutional for the state to pay it’s share of the bill. The courts have ruled otherwise and yet he still spends taxpayers money on legal fees.
The states bond rating has taken 8 downgrades because of this and costs the taxpayers of the state a fortune. Why? Because he wants to be President and needs a plank in his platform.
Never trust a politician unless you like tire tracks.
A “Good Politician” is one who stays bought.
Louisiana has the best politicians that money can buy. Everyone has there hand out.
Politicians will throw us to the wolves , remember that they have built themselves new blast bunkers , for when nuclear war comes about . There are laws that bring about Continuity of Government , no matter the loss of civilian lives , it’s called collateral damage , we are actually way down on the list for rescue . All one has to do is look at the folks that have been left behind in other countries , military left behind , even though this is part of warfare , a good example is the Iranian hostage crisis in the late 1970’s, another example is , and I know because we went through it here in Mississippi , how long it took FEMA to get geared up after Katrina , we just needed a little help with water and ice , most other things were private sector problems , but getting back to FEMA , the Sheriff in Forrest county to the south of us , Sheriff Billy Magee took over the FEMA depot from FEMA and starting handing out supplies because put a freeze on giving out supplies , the Sheriff was later arrested but the case was dropped due to the fact that it was decided that no voters would convict him . We are truly on our own , unless we have a network of family and neighbors working together . Be prepared and ready . Keep your powder dry .
