Prepping & Preparedness This Week
Big Lesson Learned: I was stunned that we had a garden killing frost the morning of September 2. A one hour period below freezing between 6 & 7AM was enough to burn the leaves on most of our garden plants. I was figuring another month or so before this would happen. While we have been harvesting some of our garden and it wasn’t a complete loss, it sure was a reminder of the potential for a very short growing season up here. I will definitely be adding alternative methods to deal with this in the future (e.g. raised garden beds with adjustable covers).

-harvesting what I can out of the garden
A quick request for all our regulars who regularly comment:
For better readability, it would help if you made paragraphs when your comment is long. That means pressing the ‘Enter’ key twice. Otherwise a long comment is one giant run-on paragraph. Somewhat difficult to read. Unfortunately paragraphs don’t show up in the ‘Recent Comments’ page but they do show up within the article’s comment section. Thanks!
Okay, so what have you been up to this week?
