Modern Survival Blog has been upgraded to ‘https’ (as opposed to ‘http’).
For those technically challenged:
This simply means we’ve upgraded ModernSurvivalBlog.com so that the internet connection between your computer and our server is secure. The same type of “https://” internet security as banking websites.
We have implemented a SSL Certificate (Secure Sockets Layer) between you (your computer, tablet, smart phone) and our MSB server.
SSL certificates create an encrypted connection and ensure visitors their connection is secure. It establishes trust. Browsers provide visual cues such as a lock icon or a green bar when connected to Modern Survival Blog.
Everything you see, read, and post is now encrypted and secure with 2048 bit encryption.
How Strong Is 2048 Bit Encryption?
What does 2048 bit encryption mean? I have read that today’s typical desktop computing power (assumption based on a 2.2 Ghz processor with 2GB RAM) would take about 6.4 quadrillion years to break a 2048-bit SSL certificate!
While this has not been a particular problem here on MSB, I felt compelled to advantage today’s latest internet security technology.
So, I hope you feel safe here on MSB 😉
