The United States will be forced to respond. North Korea yet again has launched a ballistic missile. This time over Japan and into the sea after traveling 1,700 miles in eight minutes.
Needless to say that Japan is freaked out, however even more precarious is what the president had said the last time NK launched an ICBM and threatened another launch towards Guam…
…any threat to the United States would be met with “fire and fury”.
Note: Japan is an ally.
President Donald Trump warned North Korea’s leader that he “will not get away with” it if he does anything against the U.S. or its allies.
“If he utters one threat in the form of an overt threat — which by the way he’s been uttering for years, and his family has been uttering for years — or if he does anything with respect to Guam, or American territory or an American ally, he will truly regret it and he will regret it fast,” Trump said of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Well, Kim Jong Un just did it again.
The U.S. is now seemingly backed into a corner and must respond.
It is obvious (isn’t it?) that Kim Jong Un is not a rational man. In fact it seems evident that he will not stop. It seems evident that he truly wants war. This is madness.
The reason I’m posting on this yet again is because this time feels different. Given what Trump has said it feels like this time there is going to be a response. And it’s going to get messy.
It was reported this morning that China warned that tensions on the Korean peninsula have reached “tipping point”. Even they know that it’s about to hit the fan…
Also reported this morning from South Korea, ‘We will exterminate North Korea’s leadership’: Seoul drops eight bombs near border and threatens to depose Kim Jong-un who says U.S. will be to blame for ‘catastrophic consequences’ after he launched a missile over Japan…
This situation has gotten entirely ridiculously dangerous and I am convinced that Kim Jong Un wants war.
I find it difficult to believe that he actually thinks there will be no response from the U.S. as he continues firing off ballistic missiles despite the threats of retaliation. His actions appear to be foolhardy and crazy. And it feels to me like we are all going to be affected by this sooner than we may think.
Regardless of the response, the results are going to be terrible. There’s no telling what NK will do. Will they actually fire against Seoul with their thousands of artillery batteries?
Will they actually use their nukes and go out in a ‘blaze of glory’? This is not a rationale thinking man.
If the U.S. continues to do nothing, NK will achieve perfection in their ICBM and nuclear capabilities. Then what?
I have a bad feeling about this… given that ‘we’ are apparently backed into a corner based on what has been said.
What do you think? Will Trump do something this time given what he said?
What will he do?
Moments ago Trump made his official response:
The world has received North Korea’s latest message loud and clear: this regime has signaled contempt for its neighbors, for all members of the United Nations, and for minimum standards of acceptable international behavior.
All options are on the table.
