There was September 11 2001, 9/11, ground zero, flight 93, al qaeda, osama bin laden, and even a 911 conspiracy.
Now, 10 years later, we’re being told of a new threat. Federal ‘authorities’ warn of possible terror attacks from Al-Qaeda on New York City and Washington, D.C. ‘around’ the 9/11 anniversary.
Apparently, a ‘bulletin’ released by someone in the U.S. government on Friday is warning us of attacks on NYC or DC by none other than, ‘al Qaeda’, they say sometime around September 10th.
The bulletin apparently indicates that the attacks “would be intended to cause public panic and disarray among first responders” and to show the terror group is still relevant after a year of public losses”. (Source: FoxNews, who evidently has a copy)
There is talk of car bombs blowing up tunnels and bridges.
A question is, what are we to do?
An answer is, go about your business and don’t become overwhelmed with panic from the deluge of scary news reporting. While we certainly advocate risk awareness and preparedness, the thing is, most every American knows that this is the 10th anniversary of 9/11 and we know that these anniversary dates are attractive to those wishing to do harm, but what we don’t need is the main-stream-media hyping the situation to a frenzy. IMO.
There really isn’t much we can do about it, especially when they are reporting non-specific threats. We should simply always be ready for any type of disaster by having a surplus of food, water, supplies, a 72-hour car-kit, and we should remain somewhat tuned in to the current events that are happening around us – locally as well as globally. Other than that, short of leaving NYC and DC this weekend, there’s not much else that we can do.
So, why are they doing this (the main-stream-media and gov’t ‘officials’)?
Perhaps (God forbid) if something actually does happen, they can say that they warned us. Or, to appear as though they know something or are doing something about it. Or, to make us feel like we need them to protect us somehow. Who knows…
Point is, having listened to these scare tactics all morning while the TV news is on in the background, I said to myself, ‘IF’ something were to happen, we should ALREADY be prepared – as we should be for any type of disaster. No sense to panic the Sheeple… this will only cause further pandemonium. Cool heads need to prevail.
Hopefully there will be no ‘event’ this weekend or beyond, as we remember those from 9/11.
