Shop Smart Save Money – Pasta
Shop smart and save money. This time I want to share with you the sale I took advantage of this past weekend. I purchased spaghetti in one pound boxes for 50 cents per box. The regular price is $1.25 per box (pound). That’s a 60% savings on each box! How many boxes did I buy?
Well like many families these days trying to live frugal, we eat pasta with some salad at least once a week. So I bought 20 boxes. That’s almost six months worth of spaghetti dinners if you have spaghetti once a week. Not too mention that I also saved at least a total of $15 on the boxes. Remember, the price of these grocery store items will continue to rise as more inflation takes hold.
Besides the monetary savings, there are some other benefits which come along with this bargain. The boxes of spaghetti are relatively small, so they are easy to store. Even if you live in an apartment, you would have enough space to store at least 20 boxes without a problem. Pasta has a shelf life of at least two years. People, me included, have eaten pasta that is more than 2 years old, and it has been fine. So don’t worry about it. Just get started (or continue) with your food storage preps by taking advantage of sales, and in turn you will save money.
Another benefit to this bargain is the calorie count with respect to survival preparedness. There are approximately 1,600 calories in one pound of spaghetti! That is actually about one day worth of survival calories!
Considering you only have to boil it in some water, that makes pasta one of the calorie dense recession proof foods.
So remember, shop smart and save money!
